African American woman wanted to augment her nose bridge. Dr. Romo performed an augmentation rhinoplasty he designed specifically for the platyrrhine nose. In this procedure, he inserts architecture, derived from the internal cartilage of the nose. The added architecture provides structure that allows the nose to have a higher bridge when the skin around the structure begins to heal. The dimensions of the architecture are determined before the surgery is performed to suit the patient's facial structure and desired outcome.
