Patient was unhappy with the bump on the bridge of her nose and with the tip, which was somewhat bulbous. Dr. Romo performed a reduction structured rhinoplasty. In this technique, cartilage is removed from inside the nose and is used to rebuild the nose to precise, predetermined measurements. To provide tip support, Dr. Romo used multiple inlay cartilage tip grafts from the ear. As the nose heals, the scarring process causes the skin to shrink wrap over the nasal frame. The added infrastructure via Dr. Romo's technique prevents the tip from assuming a pointy appearance, and also prevents constriction of nasal passages, which can lead to post-operative breathing problems.
