This 56-year-old cosmetic patient came to our office seeking surgical solution for her heavy, saggy arms. She has difficulties finding cloths and is forced to wear long sleeves garment at all time to hide her arm deformity. Once we completed clinical evaluation we discussed arm lift procedure. This involves liposuction of arms to decrease the volume (circumference) of the arms followed by removal (excision) of the sagging skin. After medical evaluation and clearance by her primary care physician patient was completed patient was thoroughly educated and prepared for surgery. Surgery was done in general anesthesia. After aggressive removal of fat around the arms with liposuction, a portion of skin from her inner arm was removed. A small portion of skin from the armpit was removed to achieve arm lift. Left side images of patient show arm deformity before arm-lift surgery; notice heavy, bulky arms and saggy arm skin. On the right patient is shown 8 months after arm liposuction (arm liposculpting) and arm lift. Notice significant improvement in the size and shape of arms and armpits and well hidden scar in the inner arms. This scar is well hidden with any type of short sleeve clothing.
