These photographs outline what can be done to treat PWS or port wine stains. The Gold Standard is V BEAM vascular laser, however for resistant and deep lesions I also use a 755 Alex. laser. Blebs of thicker PWS are treated with the long pulse 1064 nD Yag laser. V Beam is used in 95% of my PWS treatments. Recovery is one week plus, each treatment takes 2-3 minutes for smaller lesions, and up to 15 minutes for larger ones. If it does not bruise, it will not clear. Typically 6-12 sessions are needed. This case shows what can be achieved over several treatments. I space treatments every 2-3 months. IPL can be effective, however it has a much higher rate of scarring as V BEAM has dynamic skin cooling. Procedure by Dr Davin Lim.
