This 50 year old patient flew in to have revisionary breast surgery. She was unhappy with her breasts from a prior surgery. She desired her breasts to be more "lifted" and have more fullness and cleavage. She wanted larger implants. It was recommended that to meet the patient's goals (XL look), a 2-stage procedure would be the best option for this patient because revision Breast augmentation/mastopexy surgery performed together carries increased chances of complications and need for further surgery. First stage of her procedure would be a breast lift (sometimes implants are removed, other times they are left alone) - 3-6 months after the first surgery, the patient would return for the breast augmentation portion of the surgery. After this was discussed with the patient in detail, the patient decided that she would proceed with surgery. Her consultation and pre-op visit were performed on the same day. The markings were completed the following morning and the details of the surgery were reviewed for the last time before going into the operating room. Her breast implants were removed and the breast lift was performed. 6 Months post-breast lift, the patient returned for her 2nd stage breast procedure. Her 2nd consultation and pre-operative visit were performed the afternoon prior to surgery and the following morning, the procedure was discussed for a final time. She is only 2 weeks post breast augmentation and has bilateral 1020cc XL saline overfilled breast implants.
