ULTRAcel is a noninvasive treatment for face and neck rejuvenation. It combines three powerful treatments in one: fractional radiofrequency microneedling (also called INTRACel), high-intensity focused ultrasound (HIFU), and grid fractional radiofrequency.
Each of the three modalities can work as stand-alone treatments, but they're far more effective when combined. Benefits include improving the appearance of sagging skin (including jowls), fine lines and wrinkles, large pores, acne and acne scarring, as well as the overall texture, tone, and quality of the skin.
As a nonsurgical skin-tightening treatment, it's especially beneficial for any areas of the face that develop skin laxity over time, such as the brow and jawline. It can also help smooth and firm skin on the neck and décolletage.
During the 30- to 60-minute treatment, you may experience a prickling sensation, though your provider will likely start with a numbing cream to help keep you comfortable.
Because ULTRAcel inflicts only minimal damage the superficial layers of skin, most people don't have much downtime after the procedure. Expect a few days of minor redness and discomfort, similar to that of a mild sunburn.
A series of ULTRAcel treatments can tighten and smooth skin. While some firming results may be visible after your first treatment, benefits peak at three months and can continue to improve for up to six months; that's how long it takes for new new collagen and elastin to form.
In ULTRAcel reviews, RealSelf members report a subtle lifting effect and more definition, so it's best to keep your expectations realistic: this won't deliver the same level of skin tightening as a facelift, but it can be a good option for people with mild to moderate skin laxity.

Results can last up to two years. After that, you'll need follow-up appointments to maintain them.
ULTRAcel is not yet FDA-approved in the U.S., but it’s considered safe by many providers in the U.K., where it originated.
