The universal laws of time don’t seem to apply to Sofia Vergara. Exhibit A: this social media video<\/a> that shows the actress aging (and by aging, we mean somehow looking better and better) over the course of the last three decades. According to Vergara, it’s diligent sun protection—plus a healthy dose of Botox<\/a>—that’s responsible for her perpetually youthful look.<\/p>

In a recent interview with Allure<\/a>, the actress shared that she’s been “religious” about wearing sunscreen<\/a> since reading an article about the damaging effects of the sun back in the ’90s. “I do think it makes a difference. I’m 51, and I can compare myself to my friends that have never [worn sunscreen] and they’re all like, ‘f***, why didn’t we pay attention to you?’” Vergara is such an SPF devotee that she even launched her own line of sunscreens, Toty, last year.<\/p>

But it’s not just good skin care (and genetics). “I’ve been doing Botox for a long time in my neck, [around] my eyes,” she said. “I feel like you have to take advantage of everything that is out there. I mean, if you care about aging. Nothing wrong if you don’t care about it. It’s not the end of the world. But if you do, now there’s so much stuff out there.” <\/p>

One cosmetic procedure she’s not <\/em>trying? Filler. “I don’t believe in filler<\/a>. At my age, it’s not going to make you look younger. It is going to make you look more done. And I feel like it actually doesn’t pull you up; it kind of weighs [you down]. So I am against that, once you hit a certain age,” she said.<\/p>

She is, however, fully supportive of plastic surgery, adding that it’s a lack of free time that has kept her from going under the knife so far: “I feel like I’m going to do every plastic surgery that I can do when I’m ready. I wish I had more downtime; I would have done stuff already. Because I’m in front of the camera, it’s not like I can do something and then sit in my house recuperating for weeks.” And to that, we say: for those looking to speed up their recovery like an A-lister, there’s always hyperbaric oxygen chambers and leech therapy<\/a>. <\/p>
