Sure, some celebrities may simply be more genetically blessed than the rest of us. But there’s no denying that they also have the ultimate access to the latest cosmetic procedures and top doctors in the industry. So are celebrity patients just like us? Kind of—but with a few key differences, according to the doctors we spoke with. <\/strong>One major point of distinction is the entourage they often have, <\/strong>notes New York City board-certified plastic surgeon Dr. Jordan Terner,<\/a> who performed Amy Schumer’s well-publicized liposuction procedure<\/a>. “Celebrities often travel with assistants, hairstylists, makeup artists, and stylists, all of whom can influence them. The most important thing when having an initial consultation with any patient, especially a celebrity, is to clear the room of all outside influence,” he points out.  <\/p>

And yes, in case you were wondering, even doctors are susceptible to becoming starstruck, but that doesn’t change how they treat their client; it’s always best to approach all patients the same, says Dr. Terner. “They do often demand more flexibility when it comes to timing, privacy, and accommodations, and while we try to tend to this, it’s still important not to diverge from tried-and-true methodology,” he says. <\/p>

Dr. Paul Nassif<\/a>, a board-certified plastic surgeon in Beverly Hills, California, who has treated supermodels, influencers, and celebrities (both on his show, Botched, <\/em>and off camera) <\/em>agrees. “All kinds of patients can be picky, which is why it’s important to always set realistic expectations in advance, no matter who they are,” he says. Similarly, any type of patient, be it a Real Housewife, a high-end attorney, or an A-list celebrity, is susceptible to issues such as body dysmorphia, and it’s always important to catch that, he adds. <\/p>

Dr. Andrew Jacono<\/a>, a board-certified facial plastic surgeon in New York City<\/h2>

In July 2021, Marc Jacobs made news<\/a> when he documented every detail of his recovery from a deep plane facelift<\/a>, performed by Dr. Jacono, on Instagram. Dr. Jacono then praised Jacobs for actively speaking out: “When someone of Marc’s status is sharing, it helps people realize that there are things we all can do to maintain ourselves and enhance our appearance. It sends people a message: yes, it’s possible to look like yourself, it’s not as bad as you think, and you can get the results you want without looking like you had bad plastic surgery,” he said in an interview with Vogue<\/em><\/a>. Dr. Jacono performed a deep plane facelift on RHONJ <\/em>star Sonja Morgan<\/a> in 2020. “I entrusted my face to the best @drjacono<\/a> and he hit it out of the park,” she captioned her before and after Instagram photos<\/a>.<\/p>
