How do lip fillers<\/strong> work?<\/h2>

Traditionally, various hyaluronic acid–based fillers, which include brands like Juvéderm<\/a>, Restylane<\/a>, and Belotero<\/a>, are used to enhance the lips. The purpose of these fillers is usually to restore volume loss<\/a> that happens with age or to make genetically thin lips look bigger. According to Dr. Oren Tepper<\/a>, a board-certified plastic surgeon in New York City, “In the transition between your lip and your skin, there is a small area of elevation called the white roll. As you age, this elevation begins to flatten, and restoring this architecture can promote a more youthful look.” He also describes the area between the nose and the lips where there are two columns, called philtral columns. “Filler can be used to highlight this as well, causing a central depression, which is aesthetically desirable,” he explains.<\/p>
