Here, supermodel Molly Sims discusses her best career advice and so much more.<\/em><\/p>

“Don’t forget what I told you—less is more!” Molly Sims yelled to me as she strutted toward her Uber and waved goodbye. We had just finished our interview at RealSelf’s House of Modern Beauty<\/a> in New York City, and the supermodel felt more like a friend than a celebrity—we had just spent about 20 minutes indulging in girl talk, discussing both beauty habits and career-boosting secrets.<\/p>

The 46-year-old model, actress, and mother of three certainly has a lot to say about both skin care and being a businesswoman, thanks to her lengthy career in Hollywood. And being the beauty lover she is, Sims most recently partnered with a new brand called SoME Skincare<\/a>, which combines good-for-your-skin ingredients with your own platelet-rich plasma<\/a> (PRP) to create a customized product to boost radiance, enhance skin tone and texture<\/a>, and reduce sun damage. A product that’s prepared by your physician, this serum brings advanced skin care into your own home—a process that Sims feels rather passionate about.<\/p>

Here, Sims opens up about her latest partnership, the in-office treatments she loves, and the best beauty tip she’s received from another celebrity.<\/p>

RealSelf: Tell us about your partnership with SoME Skincare.<\/strong><\/p>

Molly Sims:<\/strong> I have to say, I’m a huge believer in PRP. I’ve been doing it now for a couple of years, in the form of using it with microneedling<\/a>. I’ve become obsessed with it. So I started using [SoME and] loved it, and now I’m an ambassador. I believe in it—and I think it works [because the ingredients] are personalized to [the user]. <\/p>

RS: How often do you get microneedling with PRP done?<\/strong><\/p>

MS:<\/strong> I’ve gotten it four times this past year. But [with SoME], you can have PRP benefits every day. Microneedling with PRP and SoME can work together. You can use the products in between appointments. It’s great for [boosting] collagen, and I like that it’s natural. I’ve also gotten Vivace<\/a>, which is a radiofrequency microneedling treatment. I’ve done it twice.<\/p>

RS: What about injectables?<\/strong><\/p>

MS: <\/strong>I believe in them at the right time. I use Botox<\/a>, but I don’t do any fillers<\/a>.<\/p>

RS: What is your personal skin-care routine like?<\/strong><\/p>

MS: <\/strong>I use a sunscreen and moisturizer. I use a little bit of toner. For me, one of the most important steps is cleansing before applying product, to make sure that my skin is really clean. So I first cleanse my face, then I do the SoME serum and then a moisturizer. I need to do sunscreen more, but I’m never in the sun!<\/p>

RS: What is the best piece of beauty advice you have ever received from another celebrity?<\/strong><\/p>

MS: <\/strong>Don’t do something because it’s on-trend.<\/p>

RS: Do you have an example?<\/strong><\/p>

MS:<\/strong> Yeah. Everything becomes a trend, and you’re like, really? Whether it’s the keto diet or it’s everyone eating kale or cauliflower. I think that you have to be careful when you get on these trends. The simpler that you can make your routine, [the better]. I think with your beauty routine, you want to make it as simple, efficient, and effective as possible.<\/p>

RS: What is one piece of beauty advice that you’d pass down to your own daughter?<\/strong><\/p>

MS: <\/strong>Take your makeup off at night, wash your face, and try to be as natural as possible. And do not get on the bandwagon with [all the trends]. There are so many things that you think you would do in your 20s but you might not do in your 30s or your 40s. A friend of mine was in the beauty pageant industry, and [she got talked] into sucking out the fat in her cheeks<\/a>, to make her appear more angled when she was 20. That was fine in her 20s—but then [as you age,] everything falls [and you lose rounded cheeks naturally]. So the best advice is to go slow. Try to be as natural as possible. And it’s the same thing my mom used to say to me: do everything little by little.<\/p>

RS: Do you have any specific beauty advice for women in their 40s? <\/strong><\/p>

MS:<\/strong> I always say less is more. I don’t want to see the plastics. I don’t want to see the injectables. I don’t think too much [looks] natural. It’s not for me.<\/p>

RS: What is the best advice for other women who are trying to make their mark in their career? <\/strong><\/p>

MS: <\/strong>Hustle and be passionate about what you do. If you’re a nanny, be passionate. If you’re an assistant, be passionate about your brand or the person you’re assisting. Be a team player. Be nice, be consistent, and be kind. Don’t mistake kindness for weakness.<\/p>
