Establishment Labs Holdings Inc., a global medical technology company dedicated to improving women’s health and wellness, principally in breast aesthetics and reconstruction, manufacturer of Motiva breast implants, has launched its Sulàyöm Innovation Campus in Costa Rica. According to Juan José Chacón-Quirós, the company’s CEO, “To the Bribri, an indigenous tribe in Costa Rica, the Sulàyöm mountain is regarded as the center of all creation. We named our campus Sulàyöm, to honor our heritage and our commitment to women globally.”
The campus features cutting-edge facilities, including advanced R&D labs; new media production and broadcasting studios; executive offices and meeting facilities; and a Global Learning Center, which includes a surgical theater and procedure rooms for medical education and instruction aimed at expanding training in next-generation technologies. The center also includes additional space, to increase manufacturing and other capabilities that will allow the company to launch in new markets such as the United States and China. This new facility, covering 100,000 square feet, positions the company to meet more than half the global demand for breast implants.
In addition to advancing innovation and production for Motiva, the center also reflects the company’s commitment to sustainability. The state-of-the-art facility is designed to be carbon neutral and uses sustainable materials and other green design elements and standards.

Establishment Labs has also announced the publication of its 2022 Sustainability Review. The Sustainability Review is published annually and provides an assessment of the Company’s efforts in support of environmental and social issues in its communities.
