Ashley Iaconetti’s Complete Skin-Care Routine (Including the Drugstore Product She’s Used for 10 Years)

Ringing in at around $1,000, her routine involves a few splurge-worthy picks, but there are some budget-friendly buys she loves too.

Bachelor star Ashley Iaconetti is no stranger to skin care. She’s well-known for being extremely open about her long-term struggle with acne—and the ensuing continued quest to maintain a clear complexion. To that point, she’s tried countless products (and treatments), ultimately ending up with an extensive skin-care regimen that rivals that of a seasoned beauty editor.

Ringing in at around $1,000, her routine involves a good amount of splurge-worthy picks, but there are some budget-friendly buys she loves too. We hopped on a Zoom call with Iaconetti where she played show-and-tell and walked us through her morning and evening skin-care routines. Keep reading to learn more about the products she uses regularly—including the one drugstore staple she’s relied on for more than a decade.

Ashley’s morning skin-care routine

Cleanser

“I’ve been using the Jan Marini Skin Care Management System [$310] for about three months now, and I’ve really noticed a difference in my skin. My aesthetician, Candace Marino, who I’ve been seeing since 2016, suggested I try to stick with a complete protocol from one brand, since I’m always mixing and matching products. I definitely still mix and match, but since using the full system, I’ve noticed that my redness has improved and the closed comedones I had are really going away. My aesthetician also told me to double cleanse, so I always do that.

“I start with the Jan Marini Bioglycolic Face Cleanser [$42], and then I use the PanOxyl Acne Foaming Wash [$9.50], one of my drugstore staples. I’ve been using it for 10 years because it really helped clear up my skin. It has benzoyl peroxide in it, so it can be a little drying at first, but now my skin is completely used to it. I’ve also used it in the shower to treat breakouts on my back and chest before.”

Serums and moisturizer

“After cleansing, I move on to my serums. I have a really expensive, custom one that was made for me and contains my plasma, so I use that first, and then I apply the Jan Marini C-Esta Face Serum [$116]. I  follow that with the Jan Marini BioClear Face Lotion [$80] and the Jan Marini Transformation Face Cream [$112], all of which are part of the system.

“I also add on the Jan Marini RosaLieve [$90], a redness-relieving product that works great for me because I have really ruddy skin. The nice thing about the Jan Marini products is that you can put them all on back-to-back and they layer really well.”

Sunscreen

“I wear sunscreen year-round but am always switching up the one I’m using. Right now, I’m loving the Senté Invisible Shield [$38]. I usually go for physical sunscreens, which this one is, because I find they’re less likely to clog my pores. It’s also a tinted formula, which I normally don’t love, but this one is great. It doesn’t necessarily look like you’re wearing foundation, it more just blurs away imperfections and melts into the skin, without ever settling into pores or fine lines. And if I’m going to wear makeup, which I do most days, it layers really nicely underneath. I have melasma, and I can get really bad brown spots, even when I’m wearing sunscreen. So if I’m going to the beach or pool, I’ll not only use sunscreen but also wear one of those Daft Punk–style face shields, for extra protection.”

Cleanser

“I always use the classic Neutrogena Makeup Remover Cleansing Towelettes & Face Wipes ([5.29]—they’re the best at taking off makeup. Then I wash with those same two cleansers that I use in the morning, unless my skin is feeling or looking irritated. That’s when I go for the Senté Daily Soothing Cleanser [$34]. It’s really basic and gentle, which is nice when you have acne-prone skin and want to give it a break from more harsh ingredients.”

Retinoid or night cream

“I like to alternate between a retinol—right now I’m using Altreno, which is a prescription-strength tretinoin—and a more soothing night cream. For that, I love either the Elemis Pro-Collagen Marine Cream [$128] or the Senté Dermal Repair Cream [$164].

“I got the Senté cream after I had had a pretty intense CO2 laser done—the nurse practitioner gave me a sample of it. It’s absolutely incredible, one of the very few creams I’ve found that I can put on, even when my skin is supersensitive or irritated, and it won’t sting. I like to use it a few nights per week. And if I have any type of in-office procedure done, like microneedling or a laser, I’ll use only this cream for a week or so. That will be my entire skin-care routine, until my skin heals.”

Masks and acne treatments

“About five times per week, I use the Dermalogica Clear Start Blackhead Clearing Fizz Mask [$22]. I really credit it with helping clear up so many blackheads I had that were leaving my skin looking and feeling super-bumpy.

“If I feel like I have a big pimple cropping up, first I zap it with my Stacked Skincare High Frequency Acne Device [$130], then I put on an Avarelle Acne Pimple Patch [$7.79]. I wear that overnight, and I swear—if you catch it in time, that big pimple never comes up. And if I do end up with any pimples, I like to use the Dermalogica AGE Bright Spot Fader [$45], once they’re starting to heal. Luckily, I don’t get textrual acne scars, but I do get red marks that last forever, and I’ve found that this helps those not last as long.”
