I am a 53 year old woman who got bcc on a spot in the corner of my forehead. When the bcc was removed it was about a half dollar size, and I was told not too deep. The doc cut me up vertically from the outer top of my eyebrow and over and then down the side of my face through the edge of my sideburn area to my ear. I had a very closed and bright purple black eye. Is it normal that 2 1/2 weeks later my upper eyelid is still very puffy and distorted...with a tiny bit of purple left? Thanks.
Basal cell carcinoma on forehead removed 7/9. Sutures removed 7 days later. Doctor was not present at time of suture removal. Assist didn't give any instructions. 3 days later there has been light bleeding. I've been using antibiotic ointment and bandaid. Why am I lightly bleeding? The picture was taken tonight 7/20. MOHS performed 7/9. Does it look like it opened up? Calling my dermatologist on Monday since it's the weekend. Any opinions or recommendations?
I am trying to find a youtube video where the mohs reconstruction is like what I had done to me a couple weeks ago. But nothing comes up. Is there a technical name for it? No one else seems to have the same scar that I do. BCC in corner of forehead. Reconstruction involved a vertical cut from the outer end of my eyebrow over to the edge of my hairline on the side of my face, halfway down to my ear. My skin was PULLED UPWARD to cover the opening. Does this have a name? Thanks.
I had Mohs repair surgery 2 weeks ago using a flap on my right side of my nose. Healing seems to be going well but I'm still completely numb on the right side of my nose from the tip, up the bridge and the entire area where there is redness, swelling and a hard but palpable mass. Are these normal...symptoms to expect 2 weeks after a repair? It been like this since right just after the surgery and I expected it to be gone by now. My next check up isn't u til the end of April.
On January 20th, I had a basal cell carcinoma removed from my head along with the stitches a week later. It's been exactly two weeks and two days, the sides have healed and closed but the middle is wide open. It's a centimeter wide & in circular shape. I have seen the doctor and he told me to keep Vaseline inside of the wound, and that it would need to heal from inside-out. I have been doing as told but it's still not closing. Should I let it dry out or give it more time? Will it ever close?
I had Mohs done 16 days ago, I had bcc in the corner between my eye and bridge of nose the wound ended up about the size of a cigarette butt. The stitches have been removed and the actual scar looks great, there is still a good size bump under it which I understand. The part I am upset with is the tension it has created, there is a pull on my skin in both directions...up and down from the closed area. They assure me this will go away, Please tell me it will.
2 weeks ago, I had plastic surgery to repair a dime size hole in my forhead located just right of the midline on my forehead. The repair was necessary, as I had a MOHS procedure the day prior for basal cell removal. I just noticed that my right eyebrow is not working at all now, only my left side comes up when I move my eyebrows. I love my plastic surgeon but he did not warn me of this happening. I can feel the forehead when I touch it. Does this seems typical and are the outcomes for full recovery good?
I had MOHS by fellowship doctor 2 weeks ago to remove basal cell cancer. Removal incision was along left side of nose along the natural seam there. After 1 week nurse said looks good stitches dissolved keep bandage on 1 more week, keep Vaseline on it and after one month massage. I removed the bandage at 2 weeks lot of bumps on it but the main concern for now is in the middle there is like 1mm deep sort of fissure running vertical next to the nose. Will that fill in over time or will I need more work?
