I had lipo on my flanks and tummy 13 days ago. Today I went in and had my sutures removed but I forgot to ask some questions. Is it ok to use the sauna after a work out? My second question is about exercising. I stick to elliptical bike, stair climber, and a rope machine. I noticed every time I finish my workout I am a bit swollen but it goes away in 12-24 hours. Am I adding weeks to my recovery or is it all benign in the end?
Could a few minutes in a sauna or steam room once the wounds are closed help reduce swelling? If so, how many weeks post op would you recommend I sit in the sauna and for how long?
26 year old male having lipo to the chest, abdomen (mainly upper), and flanks/love handles. Wondering if the use of an infrared sauna (I have my own at home) post liposuction might help reduce swelling and improve skin tone. My surgeon isn't very familiar with them or their benefits. Similarly, my surgeon recommended using tensors rather than compression garments following the surgery, given the cost and discomfort of medical compression garments. I'm wondering about spanx. Any advice?
I'll be getting lipo done in my abdominal area soon. I enjoy sitting in FIR sauna sometimes for 20 min - a great way to relax & detox. I also do Bikram yoga several times a week. (Bikram is hot yoga 90 min long and is basically like a sauna). Just wonder for the lipo recovery planning, what would be the recommendation for when I can go back to: 1) just lie down in a sauna room for 20 min (no movement), 2) resume Bikram yoga? Thanks
