50 y/o male on Xarelto. 5 months ago diagnosed with lipoma that had formed under right jawline within a week. After an examination I had a contrast CT scan. The finding from the CT scan was FINDINGS: The area of palpable marker corresponds to a region of prominent fat between the right submandibular gland and sternocleidomastoid muscle, most likely representing a lipoma. Is it possible for lipoma to form that fast? My next step is to see a plastic surgeon. Any insights would be appreciated.
Hello! I've had this lump at the top of my neck by my jaw that makes my jawline look a bit off. It is only on the right side of my neck. I'm not sure how long I've had it, whether it's been a few years or my whole life. It's not painful but I do feel it when I touch it and can kind of squish it around. Do you know how/if I can have it removed by some cosmetic procedure ? Or perhaps even if this may be a cause for medical concern? Thank you!
Since the surgery, my jaw has caused me problems. Talking too much, chewing, yawning, etc. cause my jaw to hurt. Once my jaw starts hurting, I get a really bad headache. I've seen multiple doctors and can't get a diagnosis. However, the doctors I have seen are through the VA, and they havn't done much to try and find the problem. They hear headache, and send me to neurology. Neurology hears jaw pain, and send me to dental. And repeat. I need to know who to go to, and what tests/scans to ask for.
The past year Ive noticed a lump on my jawline. I saw my Dr about 6 months ago, she said its likely uneven fat distribution. Im 28, 5ft 7 and 120lbs and havent gained any weight. It feels like a squishy sack underneath, not large or hard etc. Its really knocking my confidence, its not like it on the other side, the other side it just straight when I put my head to the side. Thanks in advance.
I had a cyst that formed in the same area as a lipoma. (Just under my jawline on the left side. Approximately a centimeter below the pulse point. The lipoma was identified through an ultrasound in 2001.) The cyst was lanced and drained at Urgent Care, and I've been prescribed a round of antibiotics. Since that occurred it seems as though the lipoma is significantly smaller. I plan on seeing a dermatologist. But I'm a little bit concerned.
I have a lipoma about the length of the tip of my thumb to the first knuckle under my jawline. I am concerned about whether the resulting scar would be cosmetically worse than if I left it alone. My PCP suggested that a new procedure was going to become approved for removing lipomas in the coming future that would have a smaller scar than from an incision. Any advice you have would be appreciated. PS Is this procedure normally covered by insurance or is it considered cosmetic? Thank you, Marc
