at rest or light/short effort...there is no discomfort. .when I work the hip, say going on a hike, after a 1/4-1/2 mile the hip starts to ache. in the vicinity of the mass. This affects my activities. I've had this issue for >10 yr. Finally went to the doctor and they said...oh, its cosmetic and will leave a dimple if we remove it. they didn't care about the chronic discomfort, and advise I do nothing...

I have a lipoma on my Lt hip, near the iliac creast, I have had it around 3 yrs, it has increase in size, it approx 5 cm x 3 cm. It has started giving me a huge amount of pain in the hip /buttocks and surrounding areas. It sometimes causes me to not be able to put weight on my Lt leg for several minutes. So I think the nerves must be involved?

In major pain throughout muscles but I am feeling pain on the right side of my abdomen, is it possible to get spasms throughout that area due to recovery and sharp stinging like pain throughout the buttocks and far side of hip? And my skin is still very numb, it's been 24 hrs and I thought for sure the feeling would be back, is this normal?

On March 22, 2017, a lipoma was removed from my left side(hip). 2 weeks later I went to see the Doctor because there was a painful lump in the same area. She drained blood and fluid, but there was no infection and she hoped it would go down. End of April, 2017 I noticed the lump had grown. Ultra sound showed there was a hematoma that would probably dissolve. Here we are, Sept. 27, 2017 and it is still here, feels larger and is painful to sit, lay, walk, do almost anything causes pain. What is next?
