I am an Iranian (medium/olive skin) considering getting laser hair removal. I know ND:YAG is best n but does the machine make a difference? I received quotes from two salons and trying to decipher which one to go for? GentleYAG Pro (salon suggested I get 10 sessions) or Cutera Excel HR - ND YAG (is more expensive but the salon suggested I will only need 6 sessions)... HELP!
I went for my first laser hair removal treatment. I have never had treatments before. The machine was a Cutera Nd:Yag. I am olive skin and have course dark hair. I was getting the brazilian area done. I expected the treatment to be painful. It was minimal discomfort. I am now wondering if the settings were too low. I have a high pain tolerance but I am afraid of being scammed. When I looked at the machine the screen said: 30 30 20. What does that mean and should I ask for higher settings?
I am a middle-aged male and I am searching for laser hair removal because I am getting an annoying number of ingrown hairs on my neck. My phototype is III, my beard hair is slightly thick, somewhat coarse/curly and has a decent amount of melanin. The clinics on my area operate either with Cutera Xeo or with Alexandrite Laser by Candella. Between these two lasers, which one would probably be better for my case according to your opinion (assuming they are both experienced professionals).
If so, can you tell me why it is better then older lasers? Are there fewer side effects, allows for darker skin, or lighter colored hair on patients, does not need consumables, and/or requires fewer treatments to eliminate hair?
