Just some background on the eyes: They were perfectly fine until 2006 Sept. when I started to develop very faint dark circles underneath my eyes. My skin is fair. I was still a teenager back then and related the cause to lack of sleep and that the would be fine after a while. From 2006 to 2008 the dark circles just kept becoming worse and worse. By 2009 Summer, I started noticing that my upper eyelids also had veins. My whole eye-patch area started to look red and inflamed. Will IPL help these veins?
I have some capillaries on the top, bottom and middle of my nose and also on my cheek and am hoping to get them removed. My question is this...is an IPL safe when fired this close to the eyes? I wore Laser-Aid Disposable Eye Shields by Honeywell when I had ear hair removed but I could still see bright white flashes when the IPL was fired off so I know I will see even brighter flashes if I get my nose and face treated. Is this normal and safe to see flashes? How do I protect my eyes?
I had 4 IPL sessions and had a great result for the areas of freckle-type sun damage. However I now have a large 2cm irregular distinct edged brown patch I never had before under my right eye and a smaller one on the left. Could IPL along with sun exposure make melasma pop up? Ive never been diagnosed with melasma before. Ive been religiously using triluma, lytera, Kojic acid, vitamin c, Arbutin with no improvement. Is Clear/brilliant better than Q Switched laser or perhaps something else?
I would like a second opinion: My 3rd treatment, after numbing, was absolute torture. As soon as I was touched with the IPL wand, I could feel the burn and it got worse as the treatment progressed. By the time we got to the 1540 I was wincing and moving a bit from the pain and was scolded for doing so. Uncharacteristic of me, tears started to flow from my eyes. Please advise, as I'm really not sure what to do.
Hello, I had BBL over my entire face almost 4 months ago. The dermatologist went up to my lower lash line, sideways over the inner lid and on the outside of my eyelid. I had no eyeware on. There was a lot of damage to my face and I started seeing black floaters, my vision was blurry when I tried to focus and light hurt my eyes. It became so painful I went to an eye dr who gave me steroid drops/ointment, neurontin and agreed my iris is much darker, like black marker. It keeps getting worse.
I got IPL mostly to try to help with flushing. I also had some mild diffuse redness, which you can't really see very well in the before picture, but it was mostly in my cheeks. I'm 2 weeks post from my first IPL now, and it hasn't been a great experience. I swelled a lot, and felt very sunburnt around my eyes for several days after. In addition, 4 days after IPL, I started getting red itchy bumps all over my cheeks that haven't gone away. And my cheeks are now more red than before I had the IPL.
I had IPL done about two years ago and the technician picked up the goggles and used the laser all over my eyelids. The goggles where there to protect my eyes so I don't know why she did that. Will this affect my vision or my eyes in the future? If yes, is there something I can do about it?
