I am a 46-year old female with with type high II/III skin and very minor signs of aging: a few brown spots, a couple of broken capillaries, a few minor wrinkles around the eyes. If my face was not red at all after a Photofacial (IPL treatment), does that mean that the procedure was not agressive at all? It's 3 days later and I took before pictures, and just took after pictures and there are NO differences. Should I ask for a more agressive approach when I go back? We made my next appointment for 4 weeks out, which makes me now think that the RNP thought my skin was more 'fragile' or sensitive? I know, IPL results are subtle. Maybe I haven't waited long enough to pass judgement? Also, there's a part of me that would rather this take longer--if SOMETHING is changing-- than risk burns or other irreversible damage to my skin. I knowthat it's a balance, but I was really hoping to SEE results ('coffee grounds', something, anything). Comments? Thanks!
I just had my first IPL treatment for minor acne scars, light sun spots, and mild discoloration on fair un-tanned skin. It has been 4 days since the treatment and I have no brown "coffee ground" marks, scabs, redness, irritation, or visible side effects whatsoever. Did the IPL treatment work? Is this normal?
Is there a chance these brown spots that are all showing up after IPL photofacial might not flake off? I am 3 days out and they look like coffee grinds but just a little anxious that they might stay. :) They are not scabbing up or feel raised as others have stated. Face feels smooth.
I had 2 very large sunspots zapped on Wednesday night and they turned deep brown. Its slightly broken up and skin looks nice underneath. It's looks like it's supposed to but I need it to start flaking bc it's impossible to cover. What can I use? Neosporin perhaps?
After 3 days I still have these grid marks on my face. Will my skin tone even out? I went in and spoke with PA that preformed the proceedure and was told it was a complimentary IPL since the machine was down that day and that these spots with slough in a few days. I had no idea until I called worried about the grid marks and spots that I had NOT had the 1st of 3 Icon laser non ablative treatments that I had paid for . Will my skin tone be even, will dark spots go away ?
I had IPL on my cheeks for broken capillaries 3 days ago. This is my 3rd time doing this and I have always had great results. I still use the same dermatologist. My concern is that in addition to the blood vessels that have been treated, I now have areas of welts. They are skin colored and almost remind me of hives. They don't hurt. Just concerned because it's been 3 days. Thanks in advance for your advice!
