In the middle of refining my lower arch, however started seeing signs of relapse/residual gap on my top arch due to a loose contact but the passive trays are helping maintain the contact for now as we resolve the bottom. I requested my dentist to order over correction trays for upper arch to prevent further relapse but got told it will require a new clincheck which Il have to pay for again. Can anyone confirm if this is accurate or is it possible to order it mid-treatment on the same plan?
The animation of my Invisalign treatment shows 3 final weeks of overcorrection. My dentist told me he doesn't do overcorrection as he claims this requires filing the teeth too much. Am I going to miss out of an important part of my treatment? Thank you.
I had invisalign for the past 3 years for overbite,,and I find that my bottom teeth has gone in a lot - resulting in a collapsed look (my lower lip just collapses without any support when in rest giving me a older look). Also, my top 4 teeth still has a overbite. i notice that when I wear my bottom retainers, my lower jaw looks better (maybe with additional support). I am looking for a cosmetic dentist with a holistic perspective in Bay area, California. (near san francisco)
The office manager on Friday said it was ok to stop wearing the elastics or just wear them at night till I see the doctor on Monday. I am going crazy with TMJ pain now from the jaw slipping over to opposite side as these elastics attempt to fix crossbite. Is it common to overcorrect and have it settle back down? I'm concerned I'll have to wear lingual to buccal on the opposite side now to fix this...
I just started overcorrection trays. I had done 26 of 33 trays, then refinements I was given 20 more. I am on tray 15. My results are pretty good tho I in my opinion, there are areas that still need correcting. When I picked up my last trays, my regular ortho was off (scheduling mistake) and the ortho on duty I never get straight answers from so I opted to just take my trays and leave, didn't even get looked at. He said 3 weeks per tray since overcorrection. Is that typical?
I finished Invisalign and got a retainer. The over correctors at the end of treatment made my teeth crooked after they were straight. I guess the over correctors push the teeth further past being straight since they shift back. When I got retainer impressions, I asked my dentist why it makes sense to do it based on the crooked impressions. She said over time they shift back. How can they shift back if every night I am locking them in that position? It has been months and no sign of them moving.
I had a two year treatment plan with Invisalign. After 6 months we were almost there but then embarked on 18 months of refinements. In the refinement phase, every 6 months we would finish treatment and go through 3 weeks of overcorrection aligners. Each time my bite was still uneven, so we would do another round of refinements. After finishing treatment overcorrection aligners were used again to fix a twisted tooth. Treatment now finished but bite still uneven with TMJ issues. Is this normal?
About 8mos into 16mos of treatment, and I am transferring care. I've consulted 5 other orthos, all of whom said the first ortho overcorrected and I have to wear rubber bands for 3 mos to fix my bite - something the first ortho never mentioned. Is this common? Does it mean the first ortho did something wrong?
