Having a mild allergic reaction to tray 4 of my Invisalign aligners. Slightly swollen lips, irritation all over the mucosa and gingiva adjacent to the aligner. Do I have any hope in completing treatment? Will be contacting my orthodontist on Monday but eager to know sooner. Thank you
Right now (halfway through my treatment plan) I'm having slight trouble keeping my lips together with the aligners in. If I don't pay attention to it, they part. My main concern is that my front teeth are going to be pushed forward much more than they already are. Could this make it hard to close my lips? Side question - could this change my lip size? (The pictures are of my top teeth at set 1, 10 and 20) Ps it's kind of hard to ask my 'dentist' because I'm doing this through Smile Dirrect
Don't say chin implant please. Why are my lips protruding? Can this be the cause of an overjet because my front teeth protrude too much? If I get it fixed can my mouth go back to normal? I currently have Invisalign on. Will it along with elastics treat my overjet and protruding lips?
What can I do to alleviate itchiness and burning? Do I need to stop usage? I had mild chapped lips during my first tray. I started my second tray 2 days ago. My lips are bright red and so very itchy/burning. I don't want to contact my dentist. Is this normal?
I just started Invisalign to fix a very minor issue (essentially one crooked lower tooth). My orthodontist is planning 34 sets of trays, which seems too many for such a minor fix. He also is having me wear each set for just a week instead of the two weeks I've read is typical. Not to mention that just 30 hours into wearing them, and I have cuts on my gums, lips, and tongue from the sharp edges. I'm getting suspicious that I'm being taken advantage of. Should I be concerned, or am I overreacting?
My purpose of invisalign was to make my teeth go in because my lips stick out. My dentist says she can do IPR. The total space created on my upper teeth are 5.7mm and 2.4mm on my lower teeth. I am not sure how much mm in total my teeth will go in as 5.7mm space created doesn't mean my teeth will go inwards 5.7mm. The video seems like it won't make much of a difference at the end of the treatment. Should I request for extractions or is IPR good enough to make my teeth go in?
My teeth are fairly straight I just wanted to make them perfect. I got my invisilign last Saturday 2/3/12. As soon as I left the office , havign both plates in my mouth my lips turned very red and dry as though if I had a wind burn. I also noticed that trying to have lunch that day was not the same as usual. My taste is off and have very little of it, and constantly bit my lips on the inside of my mouth. Does this sound like a common side effect? an allergic reaction to cement, plastic, o
