I decided to get laser hair removal with a board-certified facial plastic surgeon in Princeton, New Jersey, using the GentleLASE laser. I had my entire chest treated, and ended up being charged $1,050 for JUST that one session! I was told I'd need 5-6 more sessions for 90% hair reduction! I was initially planning to have my entire body treated, but the thought of spending tens of thousands of dollars scared me! Was I charged too much for this and, if so, how do I get a better deal?
I had my first laser treatment with the Gentlease on my back, shoulders, and upper arms and had good results. However, it was very painful. 6 weeks later I chose to be treated in the same area with the Lightsheer Duet which was much more comfortable. I trusted forum of hair removal I visit seems to praise the Gentlease far better than the Lightsheer. Naturally, time and money are my biggest enemies and want to get results.
I'm Arabic with fair skin and black hair just finished my first full body gentleLase hair removal session & my doctor prescribed me hydroquinone 2% to use for duration of 2 days after laser currently I have no pigmentation & I'm concerned about safety of hydroquinone and its need where no pigmentation is present Is it nessecary to use it ?
I made Candela Alexandrite Lazer treatment 5 days ago and I have terrible burn. My doctor said that she made the treatment on 14 charge. She was also confused why did I get such kind of burn. It wasn't first time I made Candela Laser treatment. I have dark color of skin but I didn't have sunburn on suntan. What treatment would you advise ?
I've decided to get laser hair removal, and had a test done to three areas of my body today and they seem fine - i will wait a couple of days to ensure I have no complications. The machine used is a Gentlelase, and I have read that there is a higher risk of hyper pigmentation or burning for type 4 skin. My question is, what is a safe setting that will be effective and kill the hair, but not burn my skin? The tech that did my test said she will start with 7 and go up to 9 max.
I am an Asian with very light skin tone until I went on vacation to Europe. My arms and shoulder got a little dark, but my face is still very light since it was covered with foundation with spf. My derma is very conservative and she used Yag (GentleMax) on my upper lip for touch up. It has been over 2 weeks and the thin hairs on my upper lip did not shed. Fluence 25, 10 ms. This is for touch up by the way.
