Hi there, I had my FUE hair transplant operation done 7 months ago. My hair have grown but Im still not too happy with the results as the front hair line is not as thick as I imagined. Do new hair still keep growing after 7 months? Also, will hairline get thicker?I also start smoking around again around the 4th months, can this damage new hair ? Thank you for your help.
I'm 31 years old and planning to have a hair transplant. I'm a heavy chain smoker (20-30 cigarettes per day). I understand that I need to cut down on my smoking but my question is can I vape (6mg nicotine per ml) after my hair transplant to avoid withdrawal symptoms and discomfort? If yes then how much per day?
Its saturday afternoon and I just quit smoking for my hair transplant. Im having the procedure on Tuesday morning. I was unable to quit a week before as most things i read suggest. My doctor said 24 hours was sufficient time. I want to know if this is enough time as long as i stay smoke free?
This is my head ten days post op pictures to follow. I'm going to use human growth hormone to try help with regards growth of hair. But i am going to try and quit smoking
My question is about FUE specifically, but I suspect the answer will apply to all surgeries. Cigarettes are bad for hair transplants, but is it mostly the nicotine, OR the actual combustion and additives that are most harmfull? Are e-cigarettes (which do not contain chemicals like lead, or produce Carbon Monoxide) a safer alternative to cigarettes? Or is the main negative the nicotine itself, which is still in e-cigarettes? I know NEITHER are healthy, but are e-cigarettes a lesser of two evils?
OK - I have whittled away at all my vices my one guilty pleasure in life is the OCCASIONAL cigar (I had a FUE and scar revision on 6/19/17) now I realize no doctor in his or her right mind wants to say, on-line no less Sure go ahead and smoke cigars! But I'm hoping that we can drop the PC and i can find out in black and white terms - does an occasional cigar (1 per week) cause hair loss, I realize it can cause oral cancer and other cancers but does it cause hair to fall out of one's head? Thx!
I've heard that caffeine can be detrimental to the establishment of blood supply with regards the newly implanted grafts, due to its vasoconstrictive properties. Smoking is quite self explanatory.
