What should I do?

So is there any hope for me? I had a horrible breakout of acne in my mid-teens that left me with some scarring near each temple (at least the worst of it). My picture shows the left side, which is the worst. I’ve seen two dermatologists over the last couple years, each with a good reputation, though opinions vary. One suggests fillers or punch excision and admits it’s hard to treat acne scarring. The other suggested laser treatment, but as I am uncertain about that, they’ve prescribed me a Retin-A cream I’ve been using. They also state they can do a dermabrasion (I believe that is what they said anyway) that would help but obviously not be as big of a move as laser treatment.
At home, I have been using the Retin-A cream, along with micro-needling. I have a .5 mm needle and a 1.5mm needle. Sometimes I think the scarring looks horrible, and other times I don’t care about it as much. It’s been an off and on bother for many years now but I don’t want to make a mistake treatment-wise and make it look worse. The fact I was diagnosed with a disorder of connective tissue (having a lack of it) hasn’t helped make the decision easy about what step, if any to take moving forward. Any thoughts? Are these ice pick scars? (my profile photo) also attaching the photo just in case it doesn't show for whatever reason..
