I was diagnosed with breast cancer in Nov 2014, underwent a mastectomy, took 5 different chemo drugs, and had a prophylactic hysterectomy with ovary removal. I have been taking Arimidex for several months now. Before I was ever diagnosed with breast cancer, intercourse had begun to be uncomfortable upon entry about half the time. I had started using lubrication but it really did not help. Now after everything I have been through, it is uncomfortable at entry every time, even though I use lubrication. It is not unbearable thankfully. After a few seconds the discomfort subsides significantly. I have not had any other menopausal symptoms other than that. My gynecologist recommended the Mona Lisa Touch to help with the uncomfortable intercourse. However, even after the 2nd treatment it is not any better. The discomfort seems to be at the opening. I will have my third treatment next week and my gynecologist told me that she would treat the vaginal opening then. She said the MLT did not treat the opening but that she could do it. Do you think that treating the vaginal opening just one time will help? I am getting a little discouraged, but I would not change any of the choices I have made regarding my health. Living is most important to me. It is just discouraging that I am about to have my third treatment and have not noticed any improvement. Does anyone have any thoughts on this?
