Who did you tell? What reactions did you get? How did you avoid telling those who you didn't want to know? I knew I was going to need help and moral support from those closest to me, so I've told close friends and family. I'm pleasantly surprised that I'm getting very positive reactions from the closest people in my life. I wasn't sure what some people would think and it has been great so far. I have a lot of people that I normally interact with every day but who are not close friends, who will notice that I'm MIA for a week or two, and that I'm walking hunched when I return. Example: All the friends and teachers I normally see while getting my children dropped off to school. I've also had to deflect some work and volunteer obligations that will be around my surgery and there will be more of that. I'm a pretty open book but I don't feel like I need to tell *everyone* my business. Do I say "diastasis and hernia repair"? Do I just say "surgery" and not elaborate? What did you do and how did it go?
