The road from inquiry to certifications to approval wasn't long for me. The longest requirement (the 7 month supervised diet) was part of the reason I was referred for VSG. I successfully dieted on 20+ pounds. The sleep apnea evaluation and certification was the second longest. I had to wear my CPAP for 10 consecutive days with the results being electronically uploaded to my doctor to show compliance. My cardiology certification was as quick as getting an appointment and completing a few in office tests (I'd taken a stress test a few months earlier and the results of that were still within qualifying range). Lucky for me my surgeons office is able to upload precertification requests on line which saved a lengthy wait time...they knew the next day that I was approved. The hardest part is THIS!! Waiting for my surgery date. I'm even anxious and excited to begin my pre-op diet because that at least means the clock is moving!!! Continued success to all and I look forward to taking a seat on the loser's bench soon!
