My ortho told me that before we could start work on straightening my crooked bottom front tooth that I would have to deal with my impacted canines on my top jaw. I still have baby teeth in place, which will need to be extracted, along with my 4 wisdom teeth. Rather than going the easy way and removing the baby & impacted canines and plopping in dental implants, my oral surgeon wants me to try pulling my impacted canines down using the gold chain method. I've read on forums that this can take 2-4 years, and my ortho says theres no shot I can use a flipper device so it looks like I have teeth during treatment. Has anyone used the gold chain method with success? How long did it take your teeth to move into place? And has anyone used the gold chain method on the top jaw and invisalign on the bottom?
