I went through lasik surgery 9 weeks ago.
Right after surgery, when still in the clinic I felt discomfort and apparently the contact lens got dry and attached to my cornea. When removing it there was a removal if epithel, and I was in follow up. About a week and a half later the doctor said the cells closed the gap, and indeed I see perfectly today, 6-6 according to an optometrists test.
Another thing I was told a few days after the surgery is that there is an ingrowth of epithelial cells under the flap, but it is small and irrelevant to my vision.
A month after the surgery in a check-up I was told there was no change, and everything is fine.
Today, 9 weeks after the surgery I had another check up and was told I had a flap melt of the lower 1 mm, but it is insignificant and the process has ended, and there is no risk for further damage. According to the doctor- "this is how you see and will always see, this process is over".
Do you think it is possible to say with confidence that the process has indeed ended, and there is no further risk for deterioraton, and if not- what are the risks and what is the right course of action in your opinion?
I have scheduled an appointment to my regular eye doctor for a second opinion but this is in 2 weeks and I am very worried.
Please help!
Thank you
