If you experienced hyperpigmentation with red light therapy initially, did you continue treatment & did it get better?

Hi I've just started using red light therapy and after the 4th treatment noticed hyperpigmentation on my face. Whether it's old hyperpigmentaion resurfacing or new caused by the red light I don't know. I haven't had visible hyperpigmentation for years due to sunscreen and keeping out of the sun.I am confused about the red light / angel light as it claims to be good for pigmentation. For those of you who experienced it getting worse - did it disappear again? And if so, after how many treatments? I have heard the view that it can be old melanin surfacing to be shed off. I would love to hear feedback from those of you who have any experience with pigmentation and red light.... :o) For now I'm keeping out of the red light.
