At long last, I'm finally at the stage of consulting and choosing a surgeon. I want to do this ASAP after years of deliberating and gaining the courage and money. The surgeon I'm leaning towards seems confident and has a few solid recommendations floating around this site in regards to explantation. However, he has no before/after photos of this particular procedure—not on his website, on this site, or even in his office. He said that he just doesn't take them, despite doing this surgery 3-4 times a month. He is board certified and has many affiliations. My question to you all is: Would this lack of before/after photos pertaining to this procedure make you feel less confident in choosing this surgeon? Pros: Doesn't believe I need general anesthesia, had a decent experience talking with him in the consultation, he gets good reviews overall, and is much less expensive than most others in the area—which I believe is due to having his own surgical center, rather than hospital costs, etc. This cost factor would also mean I could do it now, rather than waiting a few more months. My other two options are 3x the price and do have before/after photos. All three surgeons (all surgeons I've found in general after much research) have a few unhappy patients if you dig hard enough. The highest priced one has the most bad reviews.
