Wanted to let everyone know that if you are someone who is out in the sun a lot as I am. I play golf a few times a week, that Vitamin C Serums will make your skin much more sensitive to the sun and cause you to burn much more easily. I found this out the hard way.I started using a popular brand of Vitamin C Serum which I got on amazon back in January and was quite impressed the effect it had on my skin. It definitely smoothed it out and closed up the pores and was really the first thing I used in a long time that made my skin look better.I had also for a number of years have been using Puff Buffs on my face and never had a problem with irritation from using them. I have also been using a highly rated Neutrogena Age Shield Face Lotion with an SPF of 70 every day for a number of years .So after using the Vitamin C Serum and still using the Puff Buff every day without any problems, went out to play golf one day and the following day my face was swollen and very red and itching all over. I attributed this at first to maybe using the Puff Buff too much as I thought might my skin might not be able to handle it after using the Vitamin C Serum for about a month. So anyway, I stayed out of the sun for about a week, still continued using the Vitamin C Serum, as I kept reading how Vitamin C Serum is good for sun damage. Swelling went down and my skin appeared almost back to normal. Went to play golf after about a week, loaded up with sunscreen and the next day my face was swollen and red again. Then I stated searching in google and found out while Vitamin C Serums, while supposedly good for repairing sun damage they will make your skin much more sensitive to the sun.So for me, as someone who plays golf a lot, I can no longer use them, as it appears no amount of sunscreen can stop the sun from reacting to my much more sensitized skin.So if you are not someone who is out in the sun as much as I am, then you are probably going to be ok, just be very careful when you are.
