I gained quite a bit of weight from medical issues and my breasts size increased enormously. I finally got the medical under control and lost weight. My breasts now sag and are still too big. I developed herniated discs in my neck in 2013. As my weight has returned to normal (5'3", 125 right now, small frame), the weight of my breasts is causing my neck/shoulder to ache terribly. I also now get pain in my breasts that is worse around my menstrual cycle. It's gotten better as my breasts got somewhat smaller. I hoping to lose around 10-15 more lbs. I was previously a 34b most of my life.People say not to look at the internet, but I wanted to inform myself. I've spoken with my PCP twice and recently he made a referral to a PS. A nurse in his office said that this Dr, who is board certified with 30 yrs experience, reduced her daughter's breasts and she was happy with the results. I'm reading online that it seems the older you are (I'm in my mid 40's), the more potential for complications. I nervous that my insurance won't cover thisĀ (they require that 500g needs to be removed per breast) along with having problems related to large breast size. I've made a summary for the PS of my chiro care, phsyical therapy, and massages that I paid for myself to try and help neck issues. My main concerns are the incidence where the breasts end up being noticeably different sizes (ex cup size difference), odd looking nipples, scars that hurt, infection, etc. There are so many different stories, I don't know what to think. I just don't want to be a horror story. Is there any advice anyone in my age group who have had this procedure give? Insurance advice? Thank you for all the posts, especially, the healing period posts, so I know what to expect it to look like.
