ALCL from textured implant
I noticed a few people here who have been diagnosed with a rare cancer associated with implants - sorry to say I am now one of themJust had both implants removed after almost 9 years - rt one started swelling last spring and doc went in, removed implant and capsule, replaced implant. Tests on the fluid and tissue indicated Anaplastic Large Cell Lymphoma. Back in for more surgery, both implants now out, both negative for abnormal cells and hopefully I am cured.I am curious just how "rare"this cancer really is, andwondering why the inmplant manufacturers did not take some steps to warn patients back in 2011 when this was first brought up - serious enough for the FDA to issue a warning?Thoughts, experiences?
