220lbs - Gastric Sleeve on 10th Sept 2016 - wish me luck!!

Hello all. I am new to the forum. I am a mum of 2 (now at those challenging teenage years!!) and work full time - 3 of the 5 days a week I work away from home. Having yo-yo dieted for years my weight has gradually crept up to 15st 9.5lbs. At 5' 3" this is starting to affect my health. I get really sweaty and exhausted really quickly these days. I finally decided enough was enough and met Mr Chris Sutton in Leicester Nuffield UK hospital a few weeks back. My partner who came with me was completely anti me having the sleeve but Mr Sutton answered all of his questions and more and he left feeling reassured. My partner is of the 'just eat less and exercise more' mentality. I've learnt that unless you struggle with weight you can never understand the plight we have. Anyway made the decision to have the sleeve gastrectomy. Surgery date is 10th Sept. Only 5 days' time now!!Pre-op liver reducing diet started on 28th August. It's a high protein one rather than just liquid. Food options are fine but the 800 cal/day limit means frequent hunger. I have to keep pushing myself to drink the 2-4 litres of water every day too. I have already lost 8.5lbs on this pre-op diet!!Am looking forward to the surgery but am very anxious about the pain of the CO2 gas trapped inside my abdominal cavity afterwards. Nurse has warned me about it and says I will be made to move around even when in pain as it's the only way to shift it. To help get my mind in the right place I am ready a book called "Ultimate Gastric Sleeve Success" by Dr Duc C Young. I am only half way through it but I would highly recommend it. It is helping understand the reasons for certain things like the initia post op liquid diet and get my mind in the right place for the future. I would love to hear from anyone with any advice or going through it too. Good luck everyone!!Here's to our future :-)
