Doctors

Cameron Chesnut, MD, FAAD, FACMS
Dermatologic Surgeon, Board Certified in Dermatology

Dr. Cameron Chesnut is a dermatologic surgeon and founder of Clinic 5C is Spokane, Washington. He is known nationwide as an authority on a wide range of nonsurgical and minimally invasive cosmetic procedures. “I take a very comprehensive, minimally invasive approach to rejuvenation,” says Dr. Chesnut. “This often means focusing on the areas immediately around the area of concern, which allows us to achieve smaller, more natural changes that add up to a beautiful, global improvement that leaves no sign anything was done. This is in contrast to overdoing one procedure to try to make up for other areas that are also experiencing aging changes. That is not how we age—multiple aspects change together, and all of these small aspects should be addressed together.” Dr. Chesnut received his medical degree from the University of Washington School of Medicine in Seattle and completed an internship in Medicine and Surgery at Sacred Heart Medical Center in Spokane. Following that, he headed to the University of California in Los Angeles for a residency in dermatology, staying on to complete an integrated fellowship that blended dermatologic surgery, oculoplastic surgery, facial plastic surgery, and plastic surgery. He left Los Angeles after fellowship to open his private practice in Spokane. “At Clinic 5C, we focus on every aspect of the treatment experience—and every aspect of a person, from mental, spiritual, and internal health through anti-aging and aesthetic medicine,” says Dr. Chesnut. “We are truly cutting edge with our approaches and the use of regenerative medicine and physical modalities to improve overall health.” Dr. Chesnut is a member of American Academy of Facial Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery and the American Society of Dermatologic Surgery, as well as a fellow of the American Academy of Dermatology. He is board certified by the American Board of Dermatology and has won numerous national and international awards, including the Best Cosmetic Presenter Award at the Australiasian Society of Aesthetic Plastic Surgery and an American Society of Dermatologic Surgery Future Leader. He’s also a member of the RealSelf Hall of Fame. Dr. Chesnut lectures frequently at cosmetic and reconstructive surgeon meetings and has been published extensively in the medical literature. He is considered a foremost expert on the topic of facial aging. “One of my core values is to have a spirit of innovation, and I am recognized internationally for this,” he says. “My goal is to optimize your health and aesthetic results via the simplest means possible—less is more.”

Incomparable physician, team & results - 10 months out from eye surgery

There is NO physician in the World in any field who can come remotely close to DR Chesnut's surgical skills nor his patient care. To even put him in the category of plastic surgeon is unfair as he transcends his field and resides in the world of fine art. Rarely does anyone exceed expectations but Dr Chesnut and his staff set their own bar which will most certainly be only surpassed by...

Outstanding revision - excited to start living my life again

I am writing this review for anyone in need of eyelid revision surgery. Dr. Chestnut is a true artist, a master of his craft, a wizard....AND an amazing human being. Let me start by saying that for 7 years, I was haunted by previous decisions that I had made regarding surgery on my upper and lower eyelids. I was unrecognizable to myself and literally loathed looking in the mirror. I am now 6...

Chicken Pox Scarring- Incredible Results!

I saw Dr.Chestnut for a fat transfer and CO2 laser procedure starting in 2021. I had severe chicken pox scarring on my face from childhood and went to multiple Med Spas in Spokane, Liberty Lake, and North Idaho searching for solutions to soften the scarring and discoloration. I tried micro needling with no results and then was referred to Dr.Chestnut. My initial consultation he was very clear...

I do not know the final outcome as he told me it would be 4 to 6 months of healing. So far it is going well. and looking good. His staff was wonderful and I definately reccommend Dr. Chestnut. I had additonal biopsy...

The scarring is nearly nonexistent

I was diagnosed with basal cell carcinoma and needed follow-up MOHS surgery. I chose Dr. Chesnut to perform the surgery and he did it expertly. I was slightly anxious but Dr. Chesnut and his staff walked me through what to expect before, during and after the procedure. Their knowledgeable, professional and caring approach put me at ease and assured me I’d made the right choice. Additionally, t...

Q: What can help to tighten and smooth my eye area? (photos)
Answered by Dr. ChesnutApril 3, 2021

A: Fractional, ablative laser resurfacing is going to be your most effective option to tighten loose and creepy skin on the upper and lower eyelids. Cameron Chesnut RealSelf Hall of Fame

Q: What's the most intensive and effective non-surgical skin tightening treatment available for the face?
Answered by Dr. ChesnutApril 3, 2021

A: Deep, radiofrequency tightening is certainly the most aggressive and effective type of skin tightening, like my Virtuoso lift. Cameron Chesnut RealSelf Hall of Fame

Q: What is the best option for sagging skin under chin and on lower face? (Photo)
Answered by Dr. ChesnutApril 3, 2021

A: Options for neck rejuvenation range from surgical to nonsurgical, with many options in between. At a younger age, often a combination of micro liposculpting and Virtuoso non-surgical skin tightening can give wonderful results. Cameron Chesnut RealSelf Hall of Fame

Q: Is there a surgical touch up procedure that can be done under the chin to get rid of loose skin after a neck lift? (Photos)
Answered by Dr. ChesnutMay 18, 2019

A: A revision neck lift has the ability to rearrange and adjust amounts of tissue, thus it can remove excess skin and tighten those muscle bands. Nonsurgical skin tightening treatments can improve the quality of the tissue left behind,  which can have an immediate affect and help age proof your neck and jawline moving forward.

Overall, tightening can have improvement to the jowls and neck to some degree, but they do not truly alter the amount of position of those tissues.  When true tissue excess is present, whether that is skin, fat or muscle, surgery is needed.

To ensure you are receiving the highest level of care, seek out a modernly trained, new-school dermatologic surgeon, oculoplastic surgeon, facial plastic surgeon or plastic surgeon who is board certified and fellowship trained in one of these “core four” cosmetic specialties. Membership in organizations like the American Academy of Facial Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery help to identify a highly trained surgeon.
