I have been seeing Dr. Michalak for almost 12 years, as I was referred to him by a friend as I have a high history of developing skin cancer. I have had numerous skin cancer surgeries and treatments, including 2 MOH's surgeries on my face. I feel that the optimal health of my skin is Dr. Michalak's top priority, as treatment plans are tailor-made for me with my skin history and medical history. I was recommended a Fraxel as one part of a preventative treatment plan to create healthier skin. My skin is both smoother and healthier as a result. Dr. Michalak's manner is calming, caring and attentive. He is current with the latest research and incorporates his knowledge, expertise and skill in every aspect of his care. I trust Dr. Michalak in providing the optimal health of my skin. I have been seeing Dr. Michalak for 15 years for both cosmetic and medical skin conditions. He answers all of my questions and I never feel rushed. I scar very easily but all of the procedures that Dr. Michalak has done, have left no scars. I wouldn't trust anyone else to give me stiches.

I have been a patient of Dr. Michalak almost since he started his practice in Issaquah. Primarily, I have been treated for skin cancers and have always been completely satisfied. I decided to treat myself and have liposuction to minimize the family inheritance, jowls, before they became so noticeable that people would be able to tell I'd had a little work done. The procedure was practically painless and the recovery was minimal. I had a small amount of bruising, but that's what scarves are for. It was a great decision. In fact, it's been over 20 years and I'm still completely happy with the result.

I have been seeing Dr Michalak for varying levels of basal cell and squamous cell carcinoma since about1997. After many, many removals, the scars are barely visible and the healing has been rapid and virtually problem free. It is unusual to have this many removals, but you deal with what you get, right? I’m so happy that Dr Michalak is younger than me—he will be curing each cancer for many years more!! I can not recommend him emphatically enough!

I have been a patient of Dr. Michalak’s for nine years now. I was referred to him by a friend of mine to check some moles I was concerned about. I ended up having Moh’s surgery on my face for a basal cell carcinoma, which was far more extensive and scary than I anticipated, but the results were amazing – can barely tell the surgery was done! During the process, I was impressed by the professionalism and attentiveness I received and, after learning about other procedures to address sun damage and skin aging, I knew I would return at some point to try Fraxel. It took a few years to finally make an appointment, as I was very concerned about downtime during the recovery, not wanting to take time off work. Dr. Michalak and his team were very patient and thorough as they explained the procedure and what to expect afterwards. My skin is very sensitive and fair, so figured the recovery would be on the longer side, but that was not the case. The day of the procedure, my face looked like the worst sunburn you could imagine, and was hot and swollen. The next day, the redness was better but still definitely noticeable. The following day, I had meetings and I didn’t feel uncomfortable going out in public. I had two Fraxel treatments, the second one a month after the first and the recovery was similar. I was very pleased with the end results, as my skin looked much smoother and younger, especially around my eyes! Dr. Michalak is very knowledgeable and has a calming manner that I appreciate. I never feel rushed, trust his opinion and continue to recommend him to friends.

When I was seventeen I was in a terrible car accident that left many scars on my forehead and upper eyelids. I was given Dr. Victor Michalak's name by a trusted friend who had seen him for skin cancer. My first meeting with him was in 2008 and I was very impressed with his knowledge and even more so he was very honest about what I should expect for results. Because of the age of the scars he did say it would take many treatments. At this time I was also introduced to his head nurse Mary, who has been wonderful to work with all these years. Beginning in 2008 I had my first CO2 Fractional Laser treatment on my entire face with special care for the areas of the scars. Over the next few years I had two more CO2 Fractional Laser treatments. The outcomes were good and I noticed the scarring improving even after the first treatment. Since then I have continued seeing Dr. Michalak at least once a year and am on my 8th Fraxel treatment. I have changed over to the Fraxel Dual due to the scarring being almost completely gone. At this point I am continuing with the Fraxel treatments more so for anti-aging. Before the treatments I was very self-conscious about my forehead and would wear a lot of makeup to cover it up. I had my last treatment just about a month ago, November 2019 and my skin looks perfect! I am 47 years old and I feel because I have been consistently using the Fraxel treatments that it has greatly improved the condition of my face and neck area. I have no wrinkles and sun damage. I would recommend the treatment to anyone looking to improve the condition of their skin with minimal downtime. You are red and a bit puffy around the eyes the first couple of days. However, you can wear makeup and still go about your daily life without feeling like you have to stay home . The reason I have continued to use Cosmetic Surgery and Dermatology of Issaquah is because of the care given by Dr. Michalak and his staff is above and beyond. They truly care about their patients and want what is best for them.

I wanted to get an Upper Blepharoplasty for several years, but was hesitant due to cost, fear for my eyes, looking like a gargoyle, etc. My eyelids were drooping so much that my lashes were being pulled out by the skin flap and it was beginning to affect my vision. I did research a few doctors & clinics. My PCP suggested that I contact Dr. Michalak as a possibility. I got to "interview" him re his surgery. He was very informative and patient with all of my questions. I even spoke with a couple of his staff. Long story short, I set up an appt. The procedure, cost and aftermath were explained with time for my questions so that I would have full knowledge of what to expect. Each step was explained again at each pre-surgery appointment and just prior to the surgery. The procedure was odd but not frightening or uncomfortable and it went very well. Afterward I didn't experience much discomfort at all. The "carnival" ice mask helped and was fun. I followed all the recommendations for convalescence and the healing process went quite well. Even with the slight puffiness, it was not as dire as I had anticipated. I actually looked "normal" the week following the surgery, at least to me. My lids were still somewhat dark but it looked like eye shadow instead of bruising. I am at about 6 months healing and I think it looks fabulous! I'm very pleased with the results and also pleased with Dr. Michalak and his staff.

Dr Michalak is one of the most gifted surgeons I have ever been to. He and his staff are a critical part of my over health maintenance. His entire staff reflects his top-level professionalism as well are a large part of why I continue to travel from my home in Seattle to his office to seek treatment. Overall, I could not be happier with the level of care I receive at Dr. Michalak’s Cosmetic Surgery & Dermatology of Issaquah. Suggestion: The only suggestion I can think of would be the addition of WIFI in the waiting areas. Often I arrive well ahead of my appointment get some work done (without distraction!) while I wait. Outstanding job by all!

I have moles all over, but in particular, had one really big and dark mole on my lower eyelid that had been bothering me for years. I hated how it looked. If not for RealSelf, I wouldn’t even have known removing moles was an option. I went to Dr. Michalak’s office just for a consultation, and ended up getting it removed right there on the spot. He and his staff made everything so easy, and I totally felt comfortable. They were very thorough in explaining all of the potential bad things that could possibly happen (none of which actually did) so I would know exactly what I was getting myself into. Of course there is a very small scar where the skin is still healing, but as soon as the next day, this is the worst it will look; and the scar is smaller than the mole was, so no downtime whatsoever was necessary. I highly recommend Dr. Michalak and everyone on his friendly staff.

I was advised by a third party to obtain a skin check and this led to the removal of several abnormal moles. Dr Michalak gave a detailed explanation as to the pros and cons of removal and why it was important to act on the results obtained and the best timeframe in which to do so. I followed up the removal with a laser treatment to minimise scarring.
