Rhinoplasty and Nose Shaping
A patient who wishes to undergo a rhinoplasty procedure may do so for a number of reasons. This popular surgery can address cosmetic issues like smoothing out a bump, straightening a crooked bridge, or lifting and refining the tip. Rhinoplasty or septoplasty surgery can also fix functional issues like a deviated septum or collapsed nasal airways.
I perform both open and closed rhinoplasty. Through an open rhinoplasty, a small incision is made between the nostrils, which allows for more extensive nose reshaping but leaves a tiny, discreet scar under the nasal tip. During a closed rhinoplasty, incisions are made inside the nostrils, so there are no visible scars. During your consultation at my Bellevue practice, we’ll discuss your goals, and I’ll recommend the rhinoplasty or septoplasty technique to give you the best possible result. I also have extensive experience with ethnic rhinoplasty, with results that look natural and respect your identity.
Face and Neck Lifts
Our skin loses elasticity with age. Smooth, firm skin becomes wrinkled and begins to sag.
Fortunately, a facelift at my Bellevue practice can smooth wrinkles and folds, lift sagging skin, and give your face a naturally youthful, beautiful appearance. Modern facelift techniques lift the skin, muscle, and a layer of tissue called the SMAS, contouring the skin over the new muscle structure. He completed a fellowship at the prestigious Beckman Laser Institute, receiving various honors and accolades from The Triological Society, the American Broncho-Esophagological Association, the American Head and Neck Society, and the American Society for Lasers in Medicine and Surgery. This was followed by his acceptance into the highly competitive fellowship Facial Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery program at the University of Washington, where he honed his skills.
Dr. Ridgway is board-certified by both the American Board of Facial Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery and the American Board of Otolaryngology - Head and Neck Surgery. He is a member and fellow of the American Academy of Facial Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery, the American Academy of Otolaryngology-Head and Neck Surgery, the American College of Surgeons, and the European Academy of Facial Plastic Surgery.
A highly respected authority in his field, Dr. Ridgway is honored to have been featured in numerous medical journals and textbooks. He is one of the founding members of the Swedish Medical Center’s Facial Reconstruction Team and is involved in various organizations and committees including Seattle Anesthesia Outreach, Global Surgical Outreach, and FACE to FACE, through which he provides voluntary surgical care for domestic violence survivors.
