Richard Shane Palmer, MD

I have had several cosmetic procedures performed by Dr. Richard Shane Palmer, M.D., (partial body lift, breast augmentation, breast lift, and back incision) and I cannot speak highly enough of his surgical skills and attention to detail. He has met and exceeded my expectations of how my body could be transformed after a significant weight loss. He listens to what his patients want as their end goal, and he is able to provide exactly what he has stated as a result. He makes "no promises that he cannot keep" and I was most pleased! I am over the moon with my decision to become a patient of Dr. Palmer. He and his nursing and office staff members are excellent (Fiona, Heidi, Cassie, and Jason)! I would rate him as one of the best surgeons in the Commonwealth of Virginia and nationally based on my experience and prior surgeries.

I had a tummy tuck in 2017, my BMI was pretty high but I had a lot of extra skin to remove due to losing over 130 pounds. Dr. Palmer made me feel comfortable during the pre-op. After the surgery I did have an open wound for at least 6 months that I had to pack with gauze but Dr. Palmer saw me until I full healed. During that time I was so upset that I had the surgery before losing all the weight. But I doing the tummy tuck was the best thing I did. Now that everything is healed, I do not have hanging skin or extra fat. I look so great. I’m so thankful Dr. Palmer did the surgery because that procedure motived me to lose even more weight.

Dr. Palmer is an excellent surgeon! He changed my previous "botched" surgeries around into a final result that I am very pleased and proud of! I am grateful for his skill and knowledge! I will be returning to him for cosmetic procedures in the near future.

Dr Palmer is amazing. He is confident and his confidence is warranted by the wonderful results I have seen! I am three weeks out and I already feel like my life has changed for the better. I just told his staff, Dr Palmer and team have given me back my life!

My breast need to be reduced and lifted. So was my stomach. Two years earlier, he worked on my face. Dr Palmer with Surgical Arts of Virginia did a great job. This year at 54 I was going to do it now, or I would spend the rest of my life wishing I did I feel so much lighter at the top and so much tighter at the bottom. I now look forward to exercising and going to the pool and beach! My advise to all who is not sure - do not let other people talk you out of doing the surgery. Just do it and you will be happy you did!

This was a must needed surgery. I was getting rashes and infections on my inner thighs because of the excess hanging skin. I was so excited and nervous about getting this done. I had very minimal pain during recovery. Didn't like the compression stockings. Below are the before pictures. I will post after pictures once the incision on the right thigh closes. I am so satisfied so far. Now I will finally be able to wear a bathing suite on my cruise next year. I plan to go back for a TT and arm lift spring 2018.

All of my life, I was bullied for various reasons: I was either too thin, or I looked like a boy. Throughout adolescence and into my adulthood, I was quite insecure about my body. His price is competitive and reasonable. I am absolutely pleased with my results, and I will be consulting him for my next procedure (s). I went on a cruise last year, and guess who won the bikini contest? Me! I love Dr. Palmer and unreservedly recommend him to anyone- no matter the gender. You will be satisfied!

I had a breast reduction and liposuction done on my arms. Dr. Palmer did an excellent job. He explained the surgery, possible complications, realistic recovery time frame, and after care. He and his staff took very good care of me before, during, and after the surgery. He has a gentle bedside manner, and he is very knowledgeable. I am incredibly happy with my results. I would definitely recommend him to anyone thinking of having a breast reduction or liposuction done.

My experience and results from Dr Palmers procedure was amazing from top to bottom! From my initial consultation, the procedure itself, and all of my post op visits, Dr Palmer and his staff exceeded my needs and expectations. Being a 38 y/o mother of two, Dr Palmer helped to restore what i had been physically missing. Pain and discomfort were minimal to almost nonexistent.

I'm 27,I do a Tt in march and I'm still waiting to see the final results, other then that the doctor and the personal in the office are excellent, totally friendly and professional services, hope I see great results at the end!!!
