I had breast augmentation with Dr. Paul Banwell at the McIndoe Centre and I genuinely couldn’t be happier. From the first consultation, Dr. Banwell was kind, professional, and really listened to what I wanted. He explained everything clearly, and I felt completely safe and in good hands throughout. I had 320/340cc Motiva Ergonomix implants placed over the muscle, and I’m quite tall and didn’t have much breasts before ( a low B cup) — the results are beautifully in proportion to the rest of my body and exactly what I was hoping for. They look and feel very natural, and my confidence is so high now. I honestly wish I’d done it sooner. Pain-wise, I was surprised at how manageable it was. I only needed paracetamol for a few days, I didn’t need anything stronger but I would definitely recommend having someone with you to help out — especially with sitting up, moving around, and general support around the house. ( with that help recovery was easy and painless) I was really anxious before the procedure but Aimee, Paul And the nurses were just amazing! I’m so glad I chose Dr. Banwell. It’s been a really empowering experience and I’d absolutely recommend him to anyone considering surgery. So happy I didn’t go with anyone else!! I’m not 2 months post op
I had a Mia Femtech breast augmentation a few weeks ago and am extremely pleased with the result. I was looking for a very natural shape and, counterintuitively, Dr Banwell advised me to go one size larger than I had planned to create that look. The Mia Femtech experience lived up to the marketing hype as well. I arrived at hospital at 7am and was out by noon and went straight out to lunch. I only took over the counter pain medication on the first night and didn’t require it beyond that. I really appreciated the time Dr Banwell took to work out what the best size would be for my specific body and couldn’t be more pleased with the result.
Great outcome regarding a breast reduction and uplift. Good shape & size achieved. Scars are healing very well. Would definitely recommend. I had been thinking about this operation for a while and a friend recommended Mr Banwell - I was pleased I chose him to perform the operation.
I did a lot of research before deciding that Mr Banwell was the one I trusted to do my procedure. After a year or so of following his work online, I learned Mr Banwell was one of very few surgeons offering the MIA Femtech procedure. Everything about MIA sounded appealing, minimally invasive, local anaesthetic, less downtime and a very natural result. I felt at ease during the consultations and trusted that he understood what I was hoping to achieve. The team in the office were very helpful and approachable. They went above and beyond to help me organise a lucky last minute surgery date from abroad. My experience at the hospital was really positive, I felt relaxed and well cared for. It was all over very quickly and I was at home that afternoon, with only a little discomfort. I was honestly amazed at how quickly the recovery time was, yes some swelling for a few days and I took some paracetamol, but it was all fairly easy. The incisions are very small and under my arms, not having scars under my breasts is a huge plus. I have gone from a very empty B cup, to a full C cup and they feel very natural, exactly what I hoped for. My confidence has increased and I feel feminine again. I’m so glad I trusted my instinct in choosing Mr Banwell for this procedure, I’m delighted with the results.
Paul Banwell is just incredible. From my first consultation, I felt I was in excellent care, with a passionate, professional and caring surgeon. He listened to my wants and needs and now I am so unbelievably happy with the outcome of my breast augmentation. Him and his team are world class.
I first contacted Paul’s team in June 2023 and they were so helpful. I explained that I had an idea of when I wanted the surgery carried out and they explained that he is usually booked up several months in advance, but because my op would be a short procedure they were able to fit me in at short notice. I had several consultations with Paul and I liked him from the outset - calm, knowledgable and invested in the best outcome for me. If you have several questions write them down - Paul talks fast! The day of surgery was faultless - everyone at the McIndoe centre was great. I’m now a little over a year post op and my breasts look amazing and not overly fake - most won’t know I’ve had them done which is what I was aiming for! My scars haven’t settled yet but the team have been on hand with advice throughout. Perfectly happy with the service and would definitely consider returning for a revision/replacements in the future
Having spent years researching surgeons and then following Mr Banwell and his work for a couple of years, I went to go and see him for the first time in late 2023. I am a very petite 5'2 woman and I am highly active, playing competitive sport across various disciplines. While I did not want my sporting dreams to hinder my aesthetic dreams, it mean I was incredibly careful and selective about the surgeon I was going to go with. Mr Banwell is absolutely top of his field and not only has he given me the most natural and well-suited breast augmentation for my small frame, but I have also been able to continue playing golf, tennis and hockey with no hindrance from my new well sized breasts. Mr Banwell's work is simply excellent. From the moment that I met him, I knew he understood the assignment! While I wanted to go from virtually flat chested (a small A cup) to a full C/ small D cup - I also wanted to be able to continue my highly actively lifestyle, including long distance running. I also did not want the proportions to look wrong and from our first meeting I had complete trust that he was the right surgeon for me. I knew in his experienced and safe hands that I would look beautifully in proportion and most importantly it would look natural. I did not want it to be obvious and I did not want people to be able to 'tell'. I liked Mr Banwell instantly, he is incredibly thoughtful, polite, personable, knowledgeable, patient and charismatic. It was important for me that I liked and had really good rapport with my surgeon and I felt that Mr Banwell understood me, what I was looking for and put any concerns of mine at ease. He took the time to understand my lifestyle, my personality and despite wanting augmentation I am the nervous type and he addressed my concerns with expert knowledge and information. I don't think there is a safer pair of hands when it comes to natural, well-proportioned breasts that also allow you to continue leading your life. Additionally, due to Mr Banwell's skill and experience, the recovery was minimal and rapid. I felt back to normal within a month and completely bounced-back. I have virtually no scars and throughout the whole process, including my time in hospital, Mr Banwell's team were excellent, on hand and so considerate and caring. I felt incredibly well looked after and reassured at all points. I am so grateful I found Mr Banwell and I am beyond thrilled with the results. They look amazing, they feel amazing and they allow me to continue running marathons among other sports!! Go and see Mr Banwell now, he is an artist, the best out there, and he will change your life for the better!
I went to see Mr Banwell several times before committing to surgery. He decided on the best weight implants for me based on my body shape and weight. We decided to go over the muscle which is less invasive and as I had enough breast tissue already. The staff looked after me very well before during and after my surgery. The recovery was easier than I thought it would be. It's very important to follow all the pre and post op advice they give you. I would say definitely have someone at home with you for the first few days as your quite immobile and it's tricky getting up from a resting backwards position. I would recommend taking a pillow with you for the journey home to go under the seat belt for comfort. And get the recommend surgical bra as you will be wearing this for 2 months post surgery day in day out. I woke up in mine with no bandaging at all. Also buy a V shaped back pillow ! It gives you a lot of support post op and I slept with mine for the first couple of weeks. You can shower but you have to keep your tape dry so drying it with a hide dryer after a shower is essential to keep the scars clean. Make sure you walk about each day afterward to keep the blood flowing. My breasts were high up and big and round and swollen for the first week. After this they very slowly started to soften and fluff. I am now 2 months post op and am able to wear what I like. I would say they felt a little strange to start with but that's why you need to wear the support bra for 8 weeks. I love how my body looks after this procedure and you cannot tell I've had work done as I am I'm proportion. Obviously you can tell a little when I am in underwear or swimwear but my breasts are natural looking just alot more full now and they fit my body so well. I would recommend getting a body cream that helps with stretch marks and a scar cream which you can start to apply after 2nd check up and the tape is off (double check with the nurse first) I use Palmas coco body cream. I still use this daily as it helps with keeping the skin moisturised and I massage my scars daily to make them soft. I can now lay on my front when sleeping and have been to the gym and swimming. The pain post op was minimal and I mostly used one of the prescribed pain killers at night to sleep better. I went from a B to a D and I am 5 foot 7 and 9 stone 10, size 10 to 12. Weight of implant was 320. I would recommend going with Mr Banwells advice on the sizing depending on what look your after. I can honestly say this was a very good decision and worth every penny. I am much more body confident. This surgeon is personally highly recommended based on my experience.
I would highly recommend Paul Banwell and his team! From start to finish they were excellent at coming back to me with any concerns I had and with booking appointments. I also wanted to go a little bit bigger than recommended. Mr Banwell supported my decision to do this and I was not disappointed with the results. When the day of the operation eventually arrived I was very nervous but the whole team were very reassuring and kind. Any questions or worries were addressed with empathy and patience. Thank you so much Mr Banwell and team!!
I am very happy with my breast reduction and lift which was performed by Mr Banwell. I did a lot of research before choosing Mr Banwell and I am glad I did. The results of my breast reduction and lift far exceeded my expectations and I couldn't be happier. I would also like to mention how wonderful the staff at the McIndoe Hospital were during my stay and also Mr Banwell's office staff were always available and very helpful. I would definitely recommend The Banwell Clinic.
Thank you for your enquiryYou look fantastic and it is probably extremely sensible to exchange your implants. You do not comment on any symptoms but as I am sure you have been told, there is always a chance of silent rupture of implants this old.Regarding your choice of implant and size, this is very much down to yourself and your surgeon. Trust their experience. You are petite and a 13 cm breast implant is still quite wide so I am sure you will be fineGood luck!
Thank you for your questionsYou would potentially be suitable for a labiaplasty but is vital you see a plastic surgeon in person and discuss your anatomy and aims and objectives in detailGood luck in your journeyPaul Banwell (London)
Liposuction is a great technique but, as am I sure was explained, contour irregularities and lumpiness can occur. I presume you have been massaging and have tried some non-surgical modalities such as endermology?Ultimately you will need to be seen in person to assess your suitability for further procedures but you are obviously very slim and have an excellent figure.Good luck!
Thank you for your questionFat transfer techniques have improved dramatically over recent years due to improved processing techniques and the gold standard system is the PureGraft system. This is increasingly being used with smaller implants in so called hybrid techniques and is now very popular. Fat transfer alone is also popular but volumes will always be limitedIt would be best for you to see a plastic surgeon in person to discuss your objectives and wishes to chat this all throughGood luck!Paul Banwell (London)
Hello thereThank you for your kind questionAs you are aware, there is NO current recommendations from countries around the world to remove (textured) implants unless there are specific symptomatic problems (eg. rupture, capsular contracture or sudden seroma formation) or unless patient wishes to specifically change them (for size reasons or due to the 10 year time lapse). For my patients I would also recommend Motiva implants as their silk surface (now classified as a neosmooth surface) has the lowest risk of capsular contracture and no reported cases of ALCL. I have been using Motiva for 4 years or so and they have revolutionised my practice in terms of the softness and their technological advancements.Regarding the ALCL story, please remember the risk of breast cancer cancer is usually quoted at around 1:8 compared to the risk of ALCL at around 1:25,000 - ie it is very rare. Personally, in the absence of any symptoms or specific changes in the breast, ultrasound examination can be notoriously unreliable and thus results should be interpreted with caution.Good luck in your journey!Paul Banwell (London)
