Darryl Coombes, FRCS(OMFS), FDSRCS(Eng)

Have you got any more stars!? After lots of research in the UK and abroad, I secured a consultation with Mr Coombes in his Worthing clinic. Those 30 minutes were of incredible value as he discretely and objectively studied my face, and within a few minutes, I was told that I would be a good candidate for eyelid surgery, however, to my surprise, Mr Coombes mentioned that there was not a real need for any further surgery. I originally wanted his signature Apex facelift and a lip lift, as well as my blepharoplasty (all on my wanted list! I am greedy!) Mr Coombes actually put me off of some surgery which made me feel certain about blepharoplasty (eye lid surgery) and that he was certainly The Surgeon for me. I couldn't believe his integrity and honesty! Mr Coombes was always very clear and to the point, which, you need when you choose to have this kind of surgery, but with a kind and somehow (shockingly) humble manner. Needless to say, the operation was stress-free, pain-free and seemed to be a walk in the park! even for Mr Coombes, Consultant Maxillofacial(Plastic Surgeon, dentist and more!) with a highly creative mind who seems to be able to go that extra mile putting faces together without thinking that is close to a miracle! (check Google!) I am very happy with my results and I can't rate him or his team enough. Mr Coombes has certainly brought my 50-year-old eyes their spark back! A total 1st Class team delivering 1st Class surgery! P.S. My only regret is not having my surgery years ago, however, somehow.. I think Mr Coombes would have said no! (not yet!) I decided to go for rhinoplasty with Mr Coombes as I had done my research and he came up often with positive reviews. I wasn’t disappointed with the results as they were quite amazing. The before and after care was exceptional with no pain only temporary soreness while the nose healed. I can recommend Mr Coombes for anyone looking to go for this procedure.

After experiencing an exceptionally stressful time which spanned over a couple of years I had aged significantly, to the point that I barely recognised my face in the mirror anymore. I tried everything I could to bring myself back to self after the stressful events but at age 55 nothing alone or in combination was able to pick up my aged and tired face. I had previously tried cheek fillers that helped but couldn't resolve the hanging neck and even heavier hooded eyelids that that had occured with rapid onset during early 2020. I had already attended Worthing Laser and skin clinic which has excellent CQC status where I arranged a consultation with Darryl Coombes who is the visiting Consultant Maxillofacial and Facial Plastic Surgeon. My appointment was arranged for 3 months time (he is a very busy man) and the surgery went ahead on 23rd March 2023. I am now 5+ weeks post surgery and am delighted with the results and the treatment I received. I believe that Darrly is an exceptionally skilled and competent surgeon in his field. For the all inclusive price of £5.000 I had the surgery and two follow-up appointments for the sutures to be removed (after 1 week) and final check-up five weeks later. The results look super natural and I look very similar to how I did back in 2016 which ofcourse I am delighted about considering that I previously looked like I had aged another 15 year since then. I apologise for not posting pictures (I have my reasons) but I wanted to write a review for this surgeon as I feel confident that people are 'in good hands' and although asthetic surgery isn't exactly a walk in the park, after the intial down time where you need to be careful regarding your activities for the first few weeks, it can indeed be positively life changing when you choose the right surgeon.

I was quite nervous going in to this procedure but Darryl and Simon really put me at my ease. The surgery felt a bit weird, as you'd expect, but was pain-free and we chatted throughout. I was sore for a week to ten days afterwards so had to sleep on my back and didn't go out much. I only needed to take paracetamol for a few days. I also took arnica from the day of surgery and for a few days afterwards. I had some bruising down the sides of my face, which was easily covered by my hair and a hat when I did go out. The worst thing was not being able to wash my hair for a week or eat anything that required chewing! My scars healed very quickly indeed and now, two months on, I have pretty much no scarring and am really very pleased with the results - while I'm still a bit numb around the ears, I have my jawline back and the overall result looks completely natural.

I recently had upper blepharplasty surgery performed by Darryl Coombes. I was recommended Darryl by another friend and I was not disappointed. He was extremely informative, approachable and understanding of my nervousness. I am delighted with the results and can’t thank Darryl and Simon (who removed my stitches a week later) enough for making the whole experience as smooth as could be. I cannot recommend Darryl enough! Choosing a doctor at the best of times can present a dilemma. So choosing a surgeon that will cut into you is daunting. Too many stories of botched cosmetic jobs abound on the pernicious world wide web. So when I chose to do , not one, but two elective and enhancing facial surgeries, I was naturally cautious and concerned. A recommendation from another surgeon suggested I call Dr. Darryl Coombes. “ He will be honest, forthright and professional in his assessment of you during consultation” I was informed. “Too many charlatans out there implying you could look like Tom Cruise or 20 years younger.” He wasn’t wrong. I was made to feel comfortable and realistic about what the surgeries would ultimately achieve. I didn’t want to look like I had plastic surgery or that my face would look like a frog in a g-force experiment. He told me what it would do. “ I doubt people are gonna come up to you and say ‘wow you look 19 years old’! But…. they will tell you look great….. you look fresher somehow…. without knowing you have had an Apex lift. He’s absolutely right! It’s given me renewed confidence and a trust in these procedures in the right hands. I have to tell anyone reading this that you couldn’t be more in the right hands! Dr Coombes is kind, reassuring and trustworthy. He values you and the work he’s done on you. He sees all his patients as walking, talking billboards or as a testament to his abilities and professionalism and if he is not satisfied with his handiwork, he assures you it will be amended at no cost to you. If those of you out there reading this review are thinking about these kind of procedures, I have just saved you a bunch of time!!!! Call him..! There’s none better!

I had the Apex facelift last week and had my stitches out yesterday. The procedure was totally painless (local anesthetic) and Darryl and Simon put me at ease (I almost fell asleep). No pain afterwards just mild discomfort and was managed with paracetamol for 24 hours. Stitches came out two days ago- again, totally painless. I am thrilled with the results and I urge anyone who is wanting a more subtle lift just go for it. No cons whatsoever!

I had always been insecure about my nose and in March decided to investigate rhinoplasty surgery. This is when I met Mr coombes, he was very professional and gave me a clear idea of what was realistic and what results I could expect from the surgery. I went ahead with the surgery in July and couldn’t have been better looked after by Darryl and his team. I was nervous about the surgery, and he put my mind at ease and explained to me exactly what would happen on the day, so I went into the hospital feeling confident about the surgery. Having a nose job has changed my life and has given me so much more confidence. I would highly recommend Darryl to anyone who is considering getting a rhinoplasty surgery.

From initial consultation to now (a few weeks after the procedure) it’s been pain and stress free. Mr Coombes and his team were reassuring and knew exactly how to calm and put me at ease. within a couple of hours i had left the clinic - fully informed and still pain free- i was able to walk around and pick up some food before going home to rest. a week later i had the stitches removed.During the week there was obviously slight discomfort(zero pain actually)-which i expected. I was genuinely shocked at how stress free it was. the result is wonderful- the scars are beautifully hidden around my ear and hairline and are blending incredibly well(just using a very small amount of concealer atm). The result is so natural. i thoroughly love the result. I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend this procedure. Fabulous.

I Had a consultation with Mr Coombes who was very informative about the procedure. Mr Coombes made me feel very relaxed and comfortable. He explained the procedure and 3 weeks later I had the procedure at his Worthing Clinic. I was not nervous and the procedure was exactly how Mr Coombes said it would be. The nurse, Sophie, was also amazing. At no point did I feel anxious. The results are amazing. Very shuttle and the scaring is so neat. I highly recommend this procedure and Mr Coombes and his team. Worth every penny.
