Hi and thanks for the question. Clear discharge following rhinoplasty happens in anyone undergoing this procedure. This is generally asymmetrical in nature, one side can leak more while the other is completely dry. This is a reactive discharge due to surgical irritation of the mucosa, and will stop soon.

ANSWER
Post-nasal dripping after a rhinoplasty is very common during the first two weeks following surgery. This is generally due to mucosal swelling and consecutive alterations in airflow. As the aeration is not normal and the lining is swollen, fluid entrapments inside the sinuses or inside your nose can easily happen and lead to these symptoms. Decongestent medication can help to heal this situation. No need to worry, this is temporary unless you have a chronic sinusitis.

Dear Prettyeyes, Clinically, the best option is to perform cosmetic and functional nasal surgeries together. However, insurance companies generally don’t cover a septo-rhinoplasty. Some of my patients travelling from european countries have been able to charge a fraction of such a surgical procedure to their insurance companies, but some other have failed to do so. My advice to you is, being ready to pay for a full septo-rhinoplasty procedure yourself, as it is not generally covered.

ANSWER
Dear Sedanur, Thank you for the question. I do not think that your eyelid droopiness deserves surgery. For the lower eyelid, I can say that you have a bit of congenital eyelid retraction, which is correctable by a canthoplasty. In such cases my preference is to employ a canthoplasty together with a temple lift. A temple or temporal lift procedure lifts the whole temple including the brow tails and lateral forehead. The combination of these procedures improves overall facial anatomy a lot, and ends up with a more lively, awake look. Please mind that these are rough comments made on a poor-quality digital photo. Upon a face-to-face consultation, to do list may change. All the best.

Thank you for this important question. My first advice to you is to have a face to face PS consultation for sure, as this is an uncommon and and a bit complicated case. As far as I can get from your pics, the best solution is to have a bigger implant alone for your left side, and a lift together with a smaller implant for the right. I definitely don’t recommend a peri-areolar lift for two reasons: 1. It flattens the breast, and avoids the projection of the nipple-areola complex. 2. It has a risk of areolar widening and scar widening in the long term. Even though a vertical lift looks like it’s a more scarry procedure, in the long term it ends up with better shape and better scar quality. All the best.. Metin Kerem, MD. FEBOPRAS

Dear Amy, What you're experiencing at the moment is the classical confusion among beginner patients. It's true that horrible experiences are present anywhere in the world, and I believe that you'll be seeing even more in the next couple of years. Let me tell you what happens: 1. There is an explosion of interest in the field of aesthetics. Of course any "injector" who is or isn't capable of doing real facial aesthetic treatments, thinks that he/she can do this "simple" (but often not as it seems)injection, and get his/her share from this huge economy. 2. People choose their clinics according to their social media performance. Unfortunately what you see there are the best outcomes of the center, maybe one among ten injections. Also, fake pictures, photoshopping etc. are quite common. Today, doctor's popularity is much more appreciated than scientific credentials. So one should think twice before calling a clinic "trustable" or not. Would you say "popular" instead? 3. Potential patients first go online to instagram or google, and with a few sentences learned from there, they think that they can diagnose and decide the correct treatment for a particular problem, and feel better when speaking in technical terms. I'm sorry, they can't. 4. Some clinics which I call "supermarket clinics" are there to "sell" things. It doesn't matter if a treatment is good for you or not, you can get whatever treatment you wish, no one says no to anything. In such an atmosphere, the decisions are made by this "google professor" patient, instead of the real professional. What you see on their faces is the result of their own choices, and they were not banned by the professional, or chose the clinic who does not protect them from doing wrong. 5. The idea of being operated is kind of scary to anyone. But the more scary thing is trying to solve an absolutely surgical problem by non surgical methods. Example: Severe eyelid bags need to be operated. If you do not do so, and pump more and more fillers under the eyes, you'll have one of these "horrible" results. Anyone with a hammer in his hand sees everything as pins! Injectables cannot solve all the problems in the face, even though they are very versatile for many of them. My advice to you is not to decide anything without talking to a plastic surgeon, who has all these invasive / non-invasive treatment options in his drawer. We surgeons are not willing to operate on every patient, but do not hesitate to do so whenever it's the perfect solution. Without doing a face to face consultation with a real professional, please do not decide anything yourself, with limited online knowledge. You do not need to be afraid as long as you're in good hands. Have a lovely day!..

ANSWER
Dear Mila, Most common mistake in the early post-op period after a rhinoplasty is to make a premature judgement. Anyone having a rhinoplasty is very impatient to see the results in the mirror, however the reality is a bit different. There is a heavy load of swelling on your nose at this stage. You'd better wait for the "snow to melt" to see what lies underneath. Another issue you should know is, the resolution of swelling on the nose is similar to a glass of water with a hole in the bottom. Lowest part empties in the last place. So at this stage, upper half of your nose is partly resolved while the lower half is still much swollen. If you still have a concern after a year, this can be considered. However, until then you'd better think less about your nose, even though it's difficult to do so.

ANSWER
Dear Jsharrakhi; There are many different suture materials used in plastic surgery. Any surgical procedure or thread lift procedure has to employ some of these materials. Your suture allergy needs further investigation about what kind of an allergic reaction you got, and with what type of material. If the exact material is known, then you'll be safe by excluding the reactant material, and going ahead with another one. All the best

ANSWER
Dear Carlos, Even though it's a bit early to be concerned with the result, I suspect that you have some dimples due to the stitch retractions of the midface lift. These dimples generally heal themselves, and you can apply a gentle greasy massage on them to facilitate this process. Of course, the best thing to do is to contact your PS, and follow his/her instructions.

ANSWER
Dear Nalan, Thank you for this question, whose answer enlights a very popular concern of your age group. As far as I can get from your photo, your main problem is midfacial deflation with a mild lower facial laxity. As this is a quite common situation, there are millions of solutions offered, out of which, many are totally useless, or not effective enough. If you ask for a single session, effective, long lasting and real solution, I'll strongly advice you to consider a "stem cell-enriched fat injection", with or without "thread suspension". This is not as invasive as a face or midface lift, but it will solve all volume distribution and deflation problems on your face, and re-contour your jawline. At this stage, I believe that it's too early to proceed with a more invasive procedure like a face or midface lift. All the best,
