I'm a breast cancer survivor and had the DIEP Flap and have zero regrets. By the grace of God I found Dr Pisano and his team and appreciate everything they did to help me through my journey. My breast look better than before and I don't have ugly scars. Yes I have a tummy scar but that is not a reminder that I had breast cancer. My GAP flap involved: prolonged surgery (7+ hours), prolonged sedation(7+hours), damage to nerves, chronic leg pain, persistent seroma, ambulatory impairment, disfigurement, and muscle removal.
