Upper eyelid surgery with revision to the outer aspects of the eyes. I interviewed 5 doctors, one in Austin about upper and/or lower eyelid surgery. Dr Shah, who is with the UT Health Science Center, was the best choice by far. He was the most conservative with his recommendations and helped me decide to decline the lower bleph because it didn't meet my expectations. Other doctors were too quick to recommend extensive (and expensive) treatments. I am extremely happy with my results and I was completely healed from the upper eyelid surgery in 2 weeks. Dr Shah also is going to do a revision on the outer aspects of my eyes (without extra charge) because I wanted a more aggressive touch to the outer corners. I have to start by saying Dr. Shah in an incredible doctor! He is kind, considerate, and highly skilled. As a legal professional, I was very concerned with a botched under eye Juvederm injection by another plastic surgeon. I called for help on a Monday and was put in the next day. The only reason I wasn't seen immediately was due to Dr. Shah's duties in surgery. Within an HOUR of simply scheduling my appointment, Dr. Shah actually called to check on me and offer advice in the meantime! I have never experienced patient care like this! When I had the Juvederm removal product injected under my eyes the following day, he was so extremely skilled that I didn't bruise. I immediately canceled all my future appointments for filler and facials with the other doctor. Today I had Juvederm injected in my smile lines and it went perfectly. I had payed for two syringes but he let me know that the job was completed with one and gave me a refund. Most patients fear doctors will up-sell or charge for material not used, but it is clear that Dr. Shah is honest and straightforward. During conversation I expressed frustration with a recent severe acne outbreak and he promptly offered to assist me with a remedy, help for which I am so grateful. Dr. Shah's and his staff are absolutely wonderful, you will feel like family from the moment you walk in the door. I'm going back next week to have my under eye treatment PROPERLY performed with Dr. Shah and will trust no one else, ever, with an area as sensitive and prominent as my face. I HIGHLY recommend Dr. Shah for any cosmetic treatment.

After a terible car accident I went to Dr. Shah to get my nose fixed. I would give him ten starts if I could. Very, very pleased with the result. I am treated with kindness and respect every time I enter his office. Amazing talent, expertise, knowledge. Rarely do patients meet such an excellent doctor. So glad I found him. Only negative, I would say, is that his office is kind of hard to find.

So, two weeks ago at the tender age of 52, I finally got the nose job I had wanted for decades. Why did I wait so long??? I guess mostly because I was really scared of having it not turn out well. I figured, hey, my husband thinks I am beautiful just the way I am, etc. etc. But in recent years of being active on social media (facebook) and seeing my hideous fat nose in so many pictures, I decided I was going to do it. So, I consulted with a couple of plastic surgeons, I decided to go with Dr. Shah in San Antonio. I felt comfortable with him and liked how he explained what his technique would be. The surgery itself went smoothly. I was back home in the afternoon and felt surprisingly ok....although pretty uncomfortable. The next three to four days were spent mostly zonked out. I had to breathe through my mouth, and my eyes burned really badly so I couldn't wear my contacts and glasses were a no-no, so I was not only very uncomfortable but also vision impaired. I had no appetite and could barely eat and on the second day I actually fainted. Thank God i didn't land on my face! After that happened, I made a point of drinking some orange juice to keep my blood sugar up. Dr. Shah took the splints out of and off my nose after five days. What a relief to breathe through my nose! However, my poor nose was still swollen and COVERED in white heads. Gross! Even though I was prepared for the nose to be swollen, deep down I was still hoping to see results when he took off the splint. So, it was disappointing to look in the mirror and see the same fat nose, covered in pimples! But after a few days, even though the nose was still swollen and looked the same as before, with my fingers i could feel that the nose was much, much smaller. Today, there is still swelling but my nose is definitely smaller, although it is not obvious to anyone else (except my husband, who is the only person who knows I did this!). I am very excited about the gradual changes that are yet to come because I can already see subtle changes, especially in my profile. I am still dealing with tenderness to the touch and inside the nose there are plenty of scabs and crusty stuff that i am quite eager to be done with. If they do not go away on their own, I am hoping Dr. Shah can remove them when I see him in three weeks.

I was looking to look more refreshed, bright-eyed and younger...important at my age (sales career). Five months later and I am happy with my results. There was an adjustment period during the healing process and Dr. Shah and his staff were very reassuring and supportive. I also opted to have Dr. Shah start doing my Botox and he is very good!

I was familiar with Dr. Shah because after careful research, my very discerning wife allowed him to perform a chin augmentation procedure on our 17-year old son and his result was excellent. I had put off correcting my drooping eyelids (one worse than other) for about 5 years but was concerned that at my age - a drastic change would be embarrassingly noticeable. But when my wife found Dr. Shah and we both liked his manner and expertise, I went along willingly. My comfort level was strengthened when I found out that he teaches plastic surgery residents at the University of Texas Health Science Center in San Antonio. Dr. Shah took time to fully explain the procedure and answered all of my questions. Time away from work was a big concern and amazingly, my procedure was on a Wednesday and I was able to return to work the following Tuesday without detection from colleagues. It helped that my eyelids had been so heavy that any residual swelling just looked like my normal self. Dr. Shah and I had agreed on a conservative procedure and that's exactly what he delivered. The surgery was uncomfortable but very manageable. I looked like a bloody mess until my wife cleaned me up and then it wasn't so bad. The recovery has been easy and the only time I feel any pain is when I forget and rub my eyes. The change is subtle but improved the age and tired look of my eyes. Both eyes are now symmetrical and for the first time many years, I have eyelids. The results continue to improve as the swelling subsides. The scars are faint indentations and only show when my eyes are shut. Dr. Shah is an excellent and exacting surgeon. He specializes in faces and his work and manner are impeccable. I'd never had any type of cosmetic surgery before this one and am very pleased with my experience.

I was born with a dorsal hump on my nose which I have disliked all my life. After years of contemplating whether or not I should do something about it, I foubd Dr. Shah's practice and went to seek advice. I originally wanted a non-surgical procedure but ended up having a closed rhinoplasty procedure to get the dorsal hump shaved down permanently. This procedure is great if you have little time to spare - only took 5 days to heal which meant ny results would be noticable faster as well. The surgery took about two hours so it went very smooth. The only con for me was the splinters that needed to be put in. However, the doctor was willing to work with me to treat the pain and get it taken care of. It's been about 2 or 3 weeks since my surgery and I love the results.

I found Dr Shah and his staff to be very professional, kind and reassuring. The office is very nice, clean and inviting. I especially like the fact that Dr Shah took the time to fully examine me and describe in detail what he would do. I appreciate his genuine concern for me as a patient and the outcome. I was delighted with the results and received many compliments. I am SO HAPPY with his work that I have referred him to my family and friends. I would most definitely recommend Dr Shah to anyone seeking plastic surgery, especially to their face. He truly is gifted! Updated on 21 Feb 2016: A week ago I went to see Dr. Shah to have a very minor correction on my upper eyelid for an a small amount of scar tissue from first surgery. To my horror I don't know what he did, but now I'm left with a hole on my upper eyelid. I am in complete terror right now and can NOT understand how a very minor correction turn so HORRIBLE. I am not left with this hole and now have to pay another doctor to see if this can be corrected. I am sorry to say, but I am very disappointed with what the job he did and do not recommend him. SEE PICTURES BELOW. Updated on 24 Feb 2016: I was referred to an ophthalmologist and everything is ok. According to him reason i have this small hole is because of the open wound that opened up and I did not go back to have it restitched. So, in a sense it was my fault it got this way. According to him my doctor did a good job. So, please disregard my previous comment. Gave me great news that this will heal and will be better in time. My doctor is a good doctor.

Being this was my 1st ever surgery, I was extremely nervous and scared. I saw about 5 doctors in the San Antonio area and never felt comfortable with any of them....until I met Dr. Shah! :) From the first day you walk in the office staff is so welcoming and sincerely nice people. The office is very well kept and has a home feeling so it seems to be more comforting. The moment I met Dr. Shah I just felt a great vibe! He was smiling and such a happy positive doctor. This being my 1st procedure ever being done I had a million questions & concerns, and Dr. Shah sat and PATIENTLY let me ask all my 100 questions and answered them in detail, which made me feel so comfortable. Other doctors did not give me that same respect and courtesy. Dr. Shah REALLY CARES about us, and I can feel that. It is hard to get a hold of doctors but Dr. Shah makes it certain if you need to ask him a question or have a concern you can call and personally talk with him. He's been the best doctor I could have asked for and the ONLY doctor I will ever see in the future relating to these procedures. While all other doctors said not to my procedure (being it was a bit difficult) Dr. Shah said yes when everyone said no. I feel as he became a friend, not only my doctor. I recommend Dr. Shah 1000% !!!! You will be happy with him & the results! Pearl

Dr. Shah and his staff went above and beyond to satisfy my needs and answer all questions and concerns I had. I am very happy with my results and Dr. Shah took into account everything I was wanting fixed with my nose in order to look and feel more confident. Very professional and friendly setting from the first consultation to my follow up visits. I would recommend Dr. Shah to anyone who is looking to have any kind of cosmetic surgery done, he's AWESOME!!
