Ricardo M. Bonnor, MD, FACS

In 2016 I underwent gastric sleeve surgery with Dr Bonnor, and in July 2020 he performed a tummy tuck and liposuction on me, to complete the makeover. I cannot recommend a better surgeon to help you make this transformative journey. He is a highly skilled, professional surgeon who really cares about the outcome. You won’t get small talk, hand-holding or a hard sell, but you will get an honest assessment of what is achievable and clear guidance on what you need to do to get there. You can also be confident that he has your health and well being as a top concern. We had to cancel my first surgery date last minute because I had a small infection and he would not take any chances. That was frustrating at the time but it was the right decision. My tummy tuck/lipo operation lasted 8 hours, and I returned home that afternoon. I was prepared for a lot of pain but I have to say, my recover was not as bad as I anticipated. I had enough pain medication to see me through the haze of the first week, and by the end of the second week I felt pretty good and started back to work. I had a few issues with the silicon scar tape allergies, but when I called Dr. Bonnor’s office they were able to see me quickly to evaluate and fix the problem. Initially I joked that I looked liked “the bride of Frankenstein” with my scar, but at 6 weeks my swelling has substantially subsided and I can see that I now have an amazing hourglass figure and flat tummy. The scar is thin, straight, and healing well. Hides right under bikini pants. There are no unsightly lumps where I had lipo, and my figure looks natural, healthy and curvy. I think I look pretty amazing now for a 55 year old woman, two kids, and a long history of battling my weight!

Words cannot describe the gratitude I have for Dr. Bonnor. As an operating room nurse, I was very nervous about the endless risks that could happen in the OR, but I know I am under vigilant care. Dr. Bonnor is an excellent surgeon and has a great team working with him. I am post op day 4 and still have no pain. I have recommend Dr. Bonnor to all of my family and friends for cosmetic and weight loss procedures.

I wasn't always this big. Things really got out of control about 2yrs ago after a dysfunctional relationship. I was depressed and spiraled out of control. My highest weight was about 221 at 5'3.5. I felt uncomfortable and I was definitely unhealthy. The weight turned me into a loner. My social life was dead. It was time to take back control. I was told my insurance would cover the procedure but I would have to see a nutritionist for 4 months. I just could not afford to wait that long so I decided to pay for it myself. I was told the surgery would be cheaper if I had a hernia because then the insurance would pay part of the hospital costs. The first step was to have a procedure to check if I had a hernia. That procedure cost about $1444. This was in January 2018 so after that, I met my deductible for the year. Thankfully, I did have a hernia. I was told the surgery would cost about $17,000 But I would pay $10,100. My surgery was scheduled for 2/1/18. Everything was a success. Thank God! The overnight stay in the hospital was very uncomfortable. I had to get up to pee every hour because of all the fluids I was getting via IV. My surgeon is Dr. Ricardo Bonnor. He is incredible! His office staff is simply amazing. They don't get tired of me calling with questions lol. I'm currently 6 days post op and I'm so happy I did this. My first post op appointment is next Monday. I can't wait to graduate to the pureed phase because I'm starting to experience some hunger pangs/pains. I hope this review helps someone. GASTRIC SLEEVE 6/27/2017 Let me start by saying, there aren't enough stars or words of praise I can give to express how Awesome my doctor, Dr. Bonnor is!!! He is very professional and truly cares about his patients. He took the time to patiently explain each type of Bariatric surgeries. He told me what he felt was the best procedure for me. He never gave me false hope and kept everything ???? % honest with me. He's very patient and listens to any concerns you may have. When I began my search for a bariatric doctor, I read all of Dr. Bonnor's reviews. I couldn't believe all the great reviews, this seemed too good to be true. Well let me confirm he's the absolute best!!!! I learned that it's not about how much weight you lose but what's most important is being healthy. On top of being the greatest doctor in the world he also has the best assistants in the world! They are very kind and you're always greeted with a smile. Ana took time and went over everything step by step and prepared me with what I needed to get insurance approval. I couldn't believe I was approved in two and a half months. Now I am two weeks post-op for Gastric sleeve. I never had to take any of the pain medication. I was up the next day walking pain free. Dr. Bonnor and his staff worked together as a team to insure I was given the best care. Pre surgery I weighed 225 and now two weeks post surgery I weigh 200 pounds. I feel brand new and I feel I can do anything. I haven't felt this good or this happy in years! I am more than pleased with the surgery. I want to thank Dr. Bonnor for giving me the chance to enjoy life again. I would advise anyone in search of bariatric surgery to choose Dr. Ricardo Bonnor. If you're looking for professionalism, honesty, respect and most of all a doctor that will do what's best for you, he's the perfect choice. May God continue to bless him and his wonderful staff!!

When i first went for my consultation i met all the lovely staff and they were very professional and nice. They were very good at helping me choose my size. Originally we decided to go with 400ccs. but after doing more research and not wanting to regret not going bigger, i went in for a second consultation and Dr. Bonner said he could do 475ccs. (thats pretty much all my body can take at this time). I had my Surgery yesterday 3/8 and i am VERY pleased so far! This is just the beginning and i cant wait to see how they change and drop and fluff. In the future when i decide im ready to go bigger, I will more than likely go back to my Dr.Bonner! He and his staff took good care of me and i look forward to working with him in the future! I will be vlogging about my experience and my journey on youtube.

I am a 36 year old mom with 2 kids. I tried for 10+ years to lose weight. I tried every diet, various gyms only to gain the weight back. I needed something different. I met with Dr. Bonnor and he decided the sleeve was the best option for me. I had the surgery Aug. 1, and I've already lost 44 lbs! This was the best decision I've ever made and I couldn't be happier!! Updated on 22 Sep 2015: If you want to have good results, you need to follow everything your Dr. and dietician tells you. They have stages of recovery for a reason and if you try to rush through, you will get sick or worse, mess up your new stomach. I had a great recovery because I followed my drs steps. I'm not going to say it was easy. It wasn't, it's very hard to stay on the liquid diet, but it only lasts a little while and the end results outweigh the negatives.

My sister & I did this surgery together. We knew we picked the right place by only speaking to January, she was wonderful & patient with all our questions, unlike other offices we spoke with. She took care of everything for us. We drove 2 hours & it was definitely worth it. They let us do everything together right down to the surgery. Dr. Bonner & his staff are very professional & exceeded our expectations. He answered all our questions & we never felt rushed. Would highly recommend him and his awesome staff to anyone.

EXCELLENT SERVICE! I LOVE MY NEW FACE! DR. Bonnor did a great job and I will be coming back for more injections. No pain and he was very gentle with an excellent bedside manner. After years of dieting, exercise and failure I decided to have the procedure. Dr. Bonnor was referred by my primary physician and I am glad I had the procedure. After 5 months I have lost over 60 pounds and continue to lose. I will say as a result of the procedure I am slightly anemic and have lost quite a bit of hair due to vitamin deficiency. Once the Doctor found out I was lacking and started taking more supplements it has gotten much better. Dr. Bonnor is a true professional and his staff are always pleasant to deal with. January works hard to make sure your paperwork is right and if it you are being covered by insurance be sure to know it takes longer than you might like but very much WORTH IT!
