Pregnancy, childbirth, and breastfeeding can significantly alter a woman’s abdomen and breasts in ways that exercise and diet can’t reverse. A mommy makeover can restore a woman’s pre-baby body—and self-esteem. This combination addresses each patient’s unique concerns, but it usually involves an abdominoplasty, also known as a tummy tuck. Most moms are left with stretched skin and weakened abdominal muscles especially after multiple pregnancies. A tummy tuck removes excess skin, repairs the muscles, and tightens the remaining skin, creating a contoured abdomen. Some patients opt to combine this procedure with liposuction, to further sculpt the midsection or other areas of stubborn fat. Another common post-pregnancy issue is sagging breasts or volume loss, which can be corrected with a breast lift, breast augmentation, or both. Aging, weight loss or gain, or pregnancy can lead to skin laxity, and even loose, sagging skin. Significant weight loss can be a wonderful achievement as it can lead to better overall health and a higher level of confidence. For patients with mild laxity, a treatment like Profound RF can provide skin tightening without surgery. However, patients who have lost a significant amount of weight may have more significant sagging or excess skin, which can cause irritation or discomfort.
I frequently perform post-weight loss body contouring for my patients in Houston. Options include an arm lift, thigh lift, tummy tuck, breast lift, or a full upper or lower body lift. Many of these procedures can be safely done at the same time.
