I have these fine lines under my eyes just above cheek bone. (photo)

Asked By:AnonymousANSWERS (1)

Good question! Lines like these can have a number of causes, including sun damage. Based on your photo, I think you may get good results from laser resurfacing or even a strong chemical peel. Some filler or BOTOX treatments may also help, especially in tandem with resurfacing procedures. As always, be sure you're wearing plenty of sunscreen during the day to keep these lines from getting worse. See a board-certified dermatologist for a more thorough review of your options.

Botox made my eyebrows uneven (can't raise one eyebrow). Suggestions? (photos)

Asked By:AnonymousANSWERS (1)

I agree with the first doctor's recommendation to add a bit more product to the right side of your face in order to raise it up and even out your results. Hope this helped!

Can Botox or a filler raise the brow 4-5 mm?

Asked By:AnonymousANSWERS (1)

It really depends on your own personal anatomy. It's theoretically possible to achieve a more significant lift without surgery, but this approach may not be the best for every patient. It's important to have a consultation with a highly experienced injector, preferably a board-certified dermatologist or plastic surgeon. You may get better results by using BOTOX Cosmetic in conjunction with a dermal filler, which can contribute to a lifting effect.

Botox appears weaker at the new place I'm going - how and why?

Asked By:AnonymousANSWERS (1)

This is a good question, and one that can have a few possible answers. The most likely explanation is that your new practitioner is simply more conservative with the number of units used. Unless you know the precise number of units in your most recent session versus the number of units your previous injector used, it's impossible to know whether they're using a diluted form. Asking your current injector about that it seems perfectly appropriate. Best of luck.

What are the future long term side effects of Botox around the eyes?

Asked By:AnonymousANSWERS (1)

BOTOX has been used for cosmetic indications for more than a decade, and in that time there haven't been any notable long-term effects recorded. BOTOX is especially effective on crinkles around the eyes, and it can be used repeatedly for many years, with no ill effects.

I've had botox in my forehead and frown lines but now I look angry. What can I do?

Asked By:AnonymousANSWERS (1)

It's difficult to tell you exactly what's happened in your situation, but in general, adding more BOTOX to an unfavorable result is not likely to correct your results. Instead, the best thing to do in this case is to wait for the BOTOX to wear off and start anew, perhaps with another injector. In some cases, the product itself can move around slightly once its injected. It's possible that this is what's responsible for the condition of your eyebrows. In any case, adding more product to the area is not the way to go. Good luck to you!

Botox or more permanent options? (photos)

Asked By:AnonymousANSWERS (1)

Thanks for your question. BOTOX is still considered the go-to treatment for forehead lines such as yours, and despite its temporary results, it's still likely to give you the results you want. A surgical forehead lift may be a bit premature at this point, but it'll take a consultation with a board-certified plastic surgeon to know for sure. In the meantime, I recommend trying BOTOX to see how it works for you. You may decide to forgo the consultation altogether.

Can Botox cure a droopy eye after a stroke?

Asked By:AnonymousANSWERS (1)

Generally speaking, it is possible for a few strategically placed BOTOX injections to help reduce a sagging eyelid or brow after a stroke. The answer isn't quite that simple, though, because it really depends on which nerves were affected, as well as the extent of the damage. It's important to see a highly qualified injector to learn more about your eligibility for this type of treatment.

Does Botox wear off unevenly? (photos)

Asked By:AnonymousANSWERS (1)

Great question! It's certainly possible for BOTOX to wear off at varying rates across the face. There are other possible explanations for what you're experiencing, too. As other doctors have suggested, it's possible that you're noticing an existing asymmetry now that you're paying more attention to this area of your face. BOTOX can also exacerbate asymmetries like this. It really depends on where you had the BOTOX. In any case, this change is unlikely to be permanent. If you see these changes enduring past the 3-month mark, see your injector.

Who is Qualified to Inject Botox?

Asked By:AnonymousANSWERS (1)
Laws regulating who can inject BOTOX vary from state to state, but generally speaking physicians and nurses, aestheticians, and physician assistants under their direct supervision may inject BOTOX. That's the straightforward answer. I recommend that you choose a medical practice directed by a board-certified specialist such as a dermatologist or plastic surgeon to have any cosmetic procedure performed. It's common these days to see BOTOX being advertised at salons and day spa-type facilities, but it's unwise to choose a provider who is not trained, experienced, and under the supervision of a physician. And even though it's natural to want to find the least expensive option, don't base your decision regarding BOTOX injections on the lowest cost. It's not worth it. Thanks for your question.

An Unwanted Double Chin - Houston, TX

Looking at pictures I was tired of seeing my double chin. With other options available on I decided to do Coolsculpting considering the fewer side effects for the sub mental. Pros: The treatment took two hours. No one was able to tell I had anything done because the swelling was non existent. Cons: Pain is intense at first. In all fairness I was comfortable about 10 minutes after the treatment was started. So it didn't last the entire treatment.

Fraxel Repair Around the Eyes - Houston, TX

I did Fraxel Repair on November 16th 2011 around my eyes, since my eye lids were drooping more than I would like them to specially the right eyelid which is why they increased the intensity on the right eye which is why its suffering more lol. anyways the procedure its self was ok the worst part was when they insert the metal shields that FREAKED me out :( even though you don't feel it since they put numbing drops in your eyes before hand but it was still freaky. you are completely numb for the whole procedure which probably took 15 minutes but the prep time was about 45 min. first there was the anesthetic ream then the doctor injects more anesthetic all around the eye which is why I have bruising starting to show now :( I wish the doctor was more gentle with the shots, Fraxel doesn't cause the bruising its the injections. after the procedure they clean you up with diluted vinegar and put you in front of the "general Wave light" for only 1 minute it supposedly helps with healing and I did it the day after and also today and planing on going tomorrow to do another 1 minute on the general wave light. I know driving 10 minutes to get only 1 minute of that light sounds absurd but hey its FREE and plus I really need to heal fast b/c Thanksgiving is in 6 days LOL!!! anyways I would tell you how I looked but let the pictures speak for them self. I will change my opinion from undecided as I'm done heeling and of course will post more pictures as I go. Updated on 21 Nov 2011: Sorry I meant to say " GENTLE WAVES LIGHT" not general wave. Updated on 23 Nov 2011: today is one week after my Fraxel repair and I still have just 2 very small bruises and pink around my eyes which was expected the doc said the pink should take another week or maybe a month depends on how I heel but so far doc says I'm heeling very well and fast :D. ok so my right eye is a lil swollen still since they did more work to it but I can already see results in my eyelid :) yaaay so this procedure is definitely WORTH it. will update again once the pink is all gone and my eye is back to normal. Updated on 31 Mar 2012: ok so the last picture was a week after the fraxel, but I was still swollen and now after almost 5 months later my eye looked the same as before :( so I pretty much spent all that money for nothing :(. so 3 days ago I did an eyelid surgery for my right eye and removed 3mm off so it was an in office procedure and so easy and cost me $1250.00 I should of just done that from the beginning and I would of saved money :/ oh well you live and learn :).

Not Enough Botox?

I had Botox injections for the 11's between my eyes. I thought I was looking angry even when I was happy.I was very pleased with the results. Hardly any pain, just a little redness and a bit of swelling that was gone in a couple of hours. Very satisfied and will have procedure again.I noticed that when I tried to raise my eyebrows only the outer part raised up. Looked like Mr. Spock or Jack Nicholson! How much Botox should be used and where should it be placed to prevent this?

Juvederm for Undereye Hollows--don't Be Afraid to Do It if You Have the Right MD

I was very nervous after seeing the pictures and hearing the horror stories about fillers under the eyes, but I've had these dark circles all my life and was ready to try anything. If you have a great doctor (mine trains other doctors how to do it), then absolutely don't hesitate to do it. I had only one syringe because I was a nervous, but I think I could have done two. My circles are not gone but are WAY better.I had some sort of numbing cream put on first, and I felt some pressure but nothing I would call pain. Cool thing is you can see results immediately; I noted a spot where I wanted more and my wish was granted. I do have bruises, but nothing like I had imagined--they are little pinpoint bruises that I also got when I got botox.I am super thrilled.

Not Worth It and Very Painful - Houston, TX

Wasted over $3000, very painful, and really I do not see any difference after 3 months. AND, here is the clincher, I never ever saw a doctor. Dr. Suzanne Bruce. I just wanted a bit of tightening, I am 59 and look "good" for my age anyway, I really see no difference whatsoever after 3 months. Save your money and go somewhere you can actually meet with a doctor.

Consultation review: bad vibes

I've been seeing a great PA here for over 20 years. Unfortunate for me but good for her to start her own practice. My appointment with Dr. Bruce made me feel like I was a stranger and all she wanted to do was sell!! I guess that's what happens when you sell your practice to a hugh corporate 'no-name' $ greedy company. A Sanova Company ...
