Truly the Best Doctor and Staff in Houston

Dr. Boynton's beside manner is phenomenal. He made me feel comfortable from the beginning. I had spoke to several different plastic surgeons before Dr Boynton but Dr Boynton was the only one that I truly felt like he cared about my well-being. Dr Boynton is a blessing. I am truly thankful for him and his amazing staff. My only regret was not doing it sooner. Kaitlin, Suzanne, and Sophia are...

Amazing Outcome of Natural Looking Breast Augmentation!

I could not be more pleased with my experience and outcome with Dr. Boynton and his office. It was very important to me that my breast augmentation be natural and fit my small frame. Dr. Boynton really created that for me. I couldn't be happier. His nurse, Sophia was so patient with all of my questions and always spent as much time as I needed explaining and comforting me through each step...

Face and neck lift in office

Dr. Boynton and his staff are very professional, personable, and easy to talk to about questions or concerns. My goal was to get rid of what I considered to be a long face, "sad look" expression. He performed a face lift and neck lift. This procedure did so much more. Dr. Boynton did an amazing job. My face looks happier, less stressed, younger, and most importantly very natural. At just 4...

Absolutely amazing!! Dr. Boynton and his staff made me feel super comfortable throughout the entire process. I had been wanting to get this done for a few years and it’s the best decision I ever made! My only regret is that I didn’t do it sooner.

Q: What can I do to fix loose vertical skin on my neck? (photos)
Answered by Dr. BoyntonMay 20, 2019

A: Thank you for your question.  In reviewing your photos, I would recommend starting with neurotoxin (i.e. Botox). This can treat the "platysmal bands" that are bothering you and can do quite a nice job in most cases. There are a number of neurotoxins available (Botox, Dysport, Xeomin, and now Jeuveau).  I would recommend starting with this and seeing how much improvement you get. The next step may be neck lift which could range from a less invasive neck lift such as Neck - Ellevate or ICLED or even a suture suspension neck lift with percutaneous division of the plastysmal bands. A formal platysmaplasty may also be necessary.  I would visit with one or several board-certified plastic surgeons in your area to discuss your options.  Good luck!

Q: Is yellow skin at 2 weeks post op normal healing? (Photos)
Answered by Dr. BoyntonMay 20, 2019

A: Thank you for your question. I agree that the "yellow skin" you are seeing 3 weeks after your tummy tuck procedure is likely resolving bruising which can be normal for that time period of healing after surgery.  I would make an appointment to discuss your concerns with your plastic surgeon.  Sometimes there can be more going on than can be gleaned from a photograph and it is important to get an in person exam to make sure everything is healing properly and there are no fluid collections in that area that sometimes require attention. Good luck!

Q: I had my boob job with alloderm 4 days ago and accidentally picked up my cat - Would that cause displacement of the implant?
Answered by Dr. BoyntonApril 29, 2019

A: Thank you for your question.  I agree with my colleagues that it is impossible to tell if anything was harmed by your slight lift with your cat without photos and examination in person; however, if anything "tore" or "pulled free" or you had a hematoma, you would have symptoms such as severe pain, swelling, and even bruising.  If you are not in increasing pain and based on the 5 lbs of your cat which is usually a normal weight to be able to lift after surgery in most cases, you are probably fine.  I would still recommend notifying your plastic surgeon and making an appointment to allay your concerns and fears and let he or she check you in person to make sure everything is ok.  I hope that is helpful.  I hope you do great!

Q: 2 weeks post op and still pretty sore with muscle spasms frequently, is that normal?
Answered by Dr. BoyntonApril 29, 2019

A: Thank you for your question.  Yes, it is very normal to still have some muscle spasms at 2 weeks after subpectoral breast augmentation (under the muscle).  I think it is important to discuss your concerns with your plastic surgeon, since he or she knows your anatomy best.  In my practice, I recommend valium which I think is excellent for relieving muscle spasms and tightness, especially at night.  I have also found, in my experience, sometimes the recovery can take slightly longer with textured implants compared to smooth round implants.  Heat and frequent showering can also be helpful.  Again, it is important to discuss your symptoms with your plastic surgeon so that he or she can give you the best management plan. Good luck!

Q: 1 year post breast augmentation. Is it too late to treat the scar?
Answered by Dr. BoyntonFebruary 8, 2019

A: Thanks for your question.  Final maturation of any scar or incision after surgery takes a full 12 months to occur. If your scar is still red at 1 month, my first recommendation is to follow up with your plastic surgeon to examine your incisions and make sure everything is healing properly and there is no infection concerns.  I think you are still well in time to utilize silicone scar creams (I prefer BioCorneum)  and massaging to the incisions.  I would discuss these options with your plastic surgeon.  Final redness of any scar can take from 12-14 months to totally fade.  I hope this is helpful.  Good luck!
