Post-Pregnancy Procedures
The mommy makeover is having its moment in the spotlight. The combination of procedures this operation entails can differ, but at my Fort Worth practice, a mommy makeover consists of body and breast enhancement procedures that either restore or improve the post-pregnancy body. For example, a new mom might experience volume loss, sagging, or asymmetrical breasts. They may opt for a breast lift, a breast augmentation, a breast reduction, or a combination of these procedures.
During pregnancy, a woman’s stomach can change dramatically—the abdominal muscles may separate, skin stretches and sags, and the entire midsection tends to droop. The only operation that can fully address these issues is tummy tuck surgery. I make a hip-to-hip incision below the bikini line, tighten the underlying muscles, and remove any excess skin to flatten the area. Some patients also include liposuction in their mommy makeover procedure, to maximize results and reach their ultimate post-baby-body goals.
Breast Surgery

When it comes to breast surgery, there are various options to choose from, depending on whether the goal is a larger cup size, more symmetrical breasts, or simply to restore perkiness that has been lost due to aging, pregnancy, or weight changes. Skin Tightening
Losing a significant amount of weight is an admirable feat; however, it can result in a lot of excess skin that simply cannot be exercised away. This can also be an issue stemming from pregnancy weight gain or simply the effects of aging. My Fort Worth patients who are concerned with excess skin can opt for a tummy tuck, which can dramatically change the silhouette of the body, giving the patient a trim and toned look. This type of surgery is also the only one that can repair damaged abdominal muscles—liposuction cannot fix this. That said, liposuction is a great body sculpting procedure, not only for the abdomen, but for areas that tend to resist weight loss measures, such as the arms, chin, thighs, hips, and buttocks. I can also add other cosmetic procedures with liposuction, such as BodyTite, which uses radiofrequency energy to help tighten the skin. Many patients choose to combine lipo and a tummy tuck to maximize results.
