Going Above and Beyond

I’m very impressed with the service I received from Dr. Khan and her staff! I have mitral valve prolapse and regurgitation so there was some concern there. But, Dr. Khan was in contact with my cardiologist and both decided how to proceed with my breast augmentation surgery- they were both cautious about this and ultimately decided to do the surgery at Baylor Uptown. Dr. Khan catered my s...

Dr Khan: the best 24 hour recovery surgeon

I did a lot of research before selecting a surgeon. I couldn’t find anyone in my area who performed a 24 hour recovery, so I was thrilled when I learned about Dr. Khan, and that she was only a 5 hour drive from my location. During my consultation, I was impressed with the entire team—Hannah, Nurse Betty, and Dr Khan answered all my questions, and made me feel so comfortable. Any nerves I had...

Q: Are 500cc silicone high profile implants too big for me?
Answered by Dr. KhanJanuary 24, 2019

A: Hard to answer this without an in person exam and specific breast measurements (and not just your height/weight). Remember also that there is no direct correlation between implant size (cc's) and cup size. Best option is to choose a board certified plastic surgeon who actually takes the time to measure you and examine your breast pocket. Sizers will only give you a rough estimate. The goal of breast augmentation is to optimally fill your breast pocket, not to overstuff or understuff it. At my practice, we utilize a series of 5 breast measurements that help me determine the ideal implant size, which in turn helps me deliver a 24 hour recovery. Do your research and choose a surgeon who takes the time to sit down with you and discuss your goals/expectations to determine the best size for you. Good luck!!

Q: Is it normal my breasts are rock hard at the top?
Answered by Dr. KhanNovember 26, 2018

A: Swelling takes several weeks to months to fully resolve. As the swelling decreases, the breast tissue softens. Just give your body adequate time to heal and you will start seeing a change in breast shape and feel. Good luck!

Q: Can I just always wear a wireless bra or bralette after a reduction/lift?
Answered by Dr. KhanNovember 26, 2018

A: I typically advise my patients at 6 weeks to get a good fitting bra that will give them the support needed, especially when they start working out. Remember that gravity always wins so the more support you have, the better your results will be long term. Good luck!!

Q: Is it normal that my hands and feet feel really cold at 3 weeks post-op?
Answered by Dr. KhanNovember 26, 2018

A: Hard to answer this without an in person exam. Best to be seen by your operating surgeon so you can be fully evaluated and examined in person and the best recommendations can be given to you.

Q: Should I go with 600 or 700cc? (Photo)
